Tel Kennedy has had enough!

it's just hilarious how just because were struggling at the minute its players like Kennedy (who gives 110% and would put his body on the line for us at any chance), who take the stick.

Not good old Johnny Brayford who's defensively inept and getting paid 3/4 times more than the average league 1 player. But hey, his beard is soo nice..
TBF mate I started a thread a couple of weeks ago highlighting how poor Brayford has been.

I love Kennedy's attitude, but sadly he just isn't good enough to get in the team, even whilst the defence we have is dreadful, IMO.

It's a real shame, but I don't think he will ever get over his knee problems. Our best defender by a mile in recent times, when he came on at Port Vale, they stopped scoring and stopped breaching our defence. Last season, on a number of occasions he came on and literally put his body on the line. I remember one game where we were clinging on with about 10 minutes to go, the opposition were looping balls into our box, hoping for someone to get on the end of it, time after time, the one figure who kept the ball out, was Terry Kennedy, ball comes over, Kennedy steams out and does a diving header to clear it, ball comes over, same again from Kennedy, shot on goal, Kennedy dived onto the ground and blocked it with his body.

His injuries have let him down, but he can go with his head held high for me.

He's easily good enough and trying to avoid going round in circles his injuries have nothing to do with his ability because when he can get fit he's our BEST defender.

gutted for him but it was the fear as soon as it went for the 2nd time.

Maybe we tried to fix them up with other clubs like we did for Otis and Connor? Maybe they turned down the chance or maybe no one was interested in a crock and a failure with known alcohol issues? Maybe they'll pass me one day on the M1 when they're driving for Eddie Stobart.
No one from Sheffield United fixed otis and Connor up with the club's there now at they did it themselves

Obviously good money for training 3 hours a day, but not exactly a fortune. I'm surprised it's that low.
Presumably whenever we did renew Tel's contract, it would have been significantly appearance skewed.
Most deals for our youngsters are. Which is why I always think it's a bit off to suggest they're all just happy to sit on their arses and not fight for a place, knowing they could double their money by actually playing.

If Kennedy and McFadzean are no longer needed they should be paid off to give them a chance somewhere else. You don't want them round the training ground as they are disgruntled

I'm not sure how it works. I could be completely wrong but don't they need to be released before the end of the JTW to be allowed to join another team (hence the spate of releasing players at the end of January)?

From what I've seen of Terry Kennedy he's too fkin good for us, like to see him in Baxters role at least he can win a tackle and head the bloody round thing!
Wish him well!

Nice return for laying on a treatment bench thank you very much !

Even better when you have to retire at 22 and try to re-qualify in another job, six years later than everybody else because they've been doing it since leaving school. He'll be made for life, the money grabbing shit.

Anyone ever stop for a moment to think about a 22 year old defender, who was subject to the interest of Chelsea amongst other clubs at 16, to play unbelievable in his first year as a scholar and be the BEST defender in that youth cup team, to then pick up a knee injury, which has never since regained full strength and blighted his career before its ever really got going?

Despite his 4 years of struggle, every single time he's stepped up to play for the First Team he's been one of our best players, remember QPR away? most of you won't.

Behind all the sh1t some of you fans talk there's young kids and adults that really just want to play football, and sometimes its not under their control.
His best performance was Bristol City away.

Read over on BM that as well as Sparky, Freeman and Scoogs gave him a like. Enough (coupled with his comment re dressing room not hurting) to start thinking that Nige has lost the dressing room?

Those are all players that have been frozen out and will most likely be on their way in the summer so I wouldn't think so. Adkins won't be popular with the players he is not playing and getting rid of.
On the other hand, Kennedy could have been complaining about yet another injury so who knows.

He is not fit enough to play to regularly and I think he knows it which is why he is getting stressed on twitter.

He has been talked about enough on this forum already in the last 12 months.

Sorry Terry but time to think about another career and some non-league football.

He's easily good enough and trying to avoid going round in circles his injuries have nothing to do with his ability because when he can get fit he's our BEST defender.

That is the problem, he cannot retain sufficient fitness to play once a week let alone twice and the side would be disrupted every time he knocked. Good attitude, reasonable player but sadly let down by his body. Its a shame but nothing is going to change it. The Cambridge experience rather confirmed his fate I think.

But not much when he has given up everything to be a pro footballer. This could be his last contract and then what has he got left. Yes, he should have a few quid saved up but he now needs to go back and get an education, not cheap. His knees are screwed, he probably has a life of pain, which will get worse when he is older.
He was a highly rated youngster who gave 100% when he played for Sufc and I bet would give anything to play week in week out, but on here he is a wage thief and a cunt. I despair.

I'd like to wish him well mate too, but as far as football is concerned i think his knee(s) injury is just to bad. If he has any intelligence outside football, which i really don't know the answer to, maybe he can use the dosh he has made set himself up with something reasonably well paid.

Not someone desparately hoping he can continue his career then if some surgeon can work magic on his knees? Was with you until the last line. His contract won't be renewed, think you could show some respect for what he tried to give us?

Yea, good luck Tel - bet he reads this forum - he could have been a really good player if he had different knees.

Just plain bad luck.

Unfortunately, as rewards are very good in the football world the downside is that it is a very short career and could be even shorter if plagued by injuries.
I would agree that he always gave 100% when he played, but, he has been given a bum hand as regards fitness and now he cannot stand up to the rigours of professional football, so he must look for other opportunities either within football as a coach, scout, manager or outside in the 'real' world.
Many people have a life of pain due to a whole host of reasons, it's not just professional footballers so I do not buy that reason to feel sorry for him.
I would have given anything to play for SUFC for nothing and I have never accused him of been either a wage thief or a c**t
Reality is dictating that despite his promise, his endeavours and his efforts he will not make it because of his injuries and look realistically of forging an alternative career elsewhere !

Shame about Kennedy, he is our best defender but he can't really complain about his situation here, he can't stay fit.

As for McFadzean, that cunt should just be happy he's not in the dole queue.

"but on here he is a wage thief and a cunt. I despair."
That last line did seem to go against the rest of his post. Apologies to CB if I have misunderstood his post but it looked like it was aimed at Kennedy and in my opinion not a true reflection.

I don't have anything against him personally and he is great on his day. The " stealing wages" comment is because he gets paid a lot of money but is rarely fit enough to play. I'm not suggesting any of this is his fault. I just wish players like him, Wallace and Cuvellier could have all had their contracts terminated months ago somehow after years of crockery. We might have more funds available to employ players with functional legs.

Totally agree, its injured players that have been injured not just for a month or even for 6 months but for 2 seasons on and off. Its impossible to have to many of such players and be successful because they take up the wage bill and also the manager might not go out and sign a replacement in the hope that said player will be able to get fit.

Take Wallace for example. A few of our fans were saying he's playing every week now for Shrewsbury. Has anyone noticed that he went of injured in his last game and missed the next one. It's really sad and I totally have sympathy for any injured player but United should have released Kennedy this January and freed up the wages of him, Wallace and Higdon on a decent player such as Franck Moussa, although that said he's injury prone but you get the drift. Someone of Moussa's quality on a short term deal from now till the end of the season could literally be the difference between mid table and 6th. Some of the teams at the top end of this league literally have just ONE stand out player, and the rest are just average or reasonable League One players like what we have anyway. Its just they have pace and balance whereas we don't.

It clearly wasn't aimed at TK, it was a criticism of some of the comments made by others.

Most posters feel sympathy for Terry, no one wanted him to fail.

There have been a few "he's not good enough" comments that ive seen. As you say, most are sympathetic.
