Teams that might get relegated from Prem in 23/24

You cant say you had "lost" something when you have on loan goes back to the rightful owner!

No indeed, but I think their point was that our team is, currently and without the benefit of the transfer window of course, weaker than it was during last season as those two have gone back. Luton on the other hand have the same team as far as I'm aware.

Obviously I'm putting words in their mouth there.

Us and Luton are certainties at this stage for me.
Then 1 of Everton, Burnley, Palace, Wolves, Bournemouth, Scabs and Brentford

Bournemouth sack their manager as is to be expected with a new owner who now has his feet under the table. Could be a masterstroke could be chaos

Bournemouth down now imo, if they weren't already

Wolves line up Gary O’Neil as manager with Julen Lopetegui poised for exit.

At the time of writing, I think there is a more-than-reasonable chance that any 3 of 10 teams, could get relegated next season. I've actually excluded Brentford but doubtless others would have included them.

All for the sake of discussion and optimism:

FULHAM (great season, plenty of good players, but Marco Silva is traditionally flakey/inconsistent, Mitrovic looks to be getting a bit wild again, Willian is pretty old, Harry Wilson is Harry Wilson, etc).

PALACE (Zaha out of contract, currently managerless and flirted hugely with relegation for awhile this season).

WOLVES (losing their lynchpin R.Neves, great manager but I think there's a very good chance he's pinched by e.g. Spurs, they've laboured since Jiminez' head injury).

WEST HAM (underperforming this season, losing vital player in Rice, Europa Conf final but were struggling in the league so could easily again).

BOURNEMOUTH (comfortable this season but O'Neil is literally a rookie manager and it wouldn't take much of a swing in performance/luck to see them in the bottom 3).

FOREST (don't really need to spell this one out... another big summer of ins and outs, also perfectly possible manager Cooper gets a better offer elsewhere).

EVERTON (scraped to survival this time and financially in big trouble, if Dyche stays you might fancy him to solidify, but he's likely got his hands tied - their squad is not the best).

BURNLEY
SHEFFIELD UNITED
LUTON
As a Luton fan I can't argue with that , but the signing of Hamer may be your invitation to stay up.
We've signed players that would probably get us up the top of the. Championship. Are they good enough to keep us up? 🙏🤞🙏🤞🙏
Burnley should be ok. Everton are in strife this season, and without Zaha , Woy Hodgson may struggle at Palace.
My fave for the drop, out of the established Prem teams is Wolves. They e got nothing at all in place and the season is on them.

You're a proper "team" though, most of the teams I've mentioned in the original post are not good "teams". Luton are wildly underrated by everyone, it baffles me.

Agreed you've signed strong Championship players but the recruitment looks excellent overall. Personally think Luton might stay up comfortably.

Good luck.

Of these possible 10, at this stage I'd eliminate Palace and West Ham.

West Ham are actually looking pretty good despite Rice going.

Palace could theoretically lose Eze in January, but otherwise they look a decent mid-table team.

That still leaves 8 sides to struggle over the 38 games this season.

If we can get two wins from the next six matches, I think even our more negative fans will be feeling more confident about survival.

Anymore injuries will shaft us i'm afraid as we dont have the depth of quality in the squad.
Annoying pep talk types (or preachers) would say DON'T BE AFRAID!

But obviously your point is pretty valid 😄

In the past 29 points & 31 points would have been enough to finish 4th bottom and avoid relegation.

I think it’s going to be another one of those seasons and it’s between the current bottom 4.

I predict 32 will be enough to keep us up.

We haven’t lost by more that 1 goal in each of our losses and have been in the position to gain points in the final 10 mins of games, hopefully that means we’re not far off and it will come!

Unfortunately, I said similar in the 20/21 season, I felt we were in games just missing chances and as the pressure grew we couldn’t get off the mark and before long we were cut adrift and the moral was drained out of us by the time we’d played 10 or so games.

The first win is so important and we need it to come in the next 3 games along with at least a draw in one of the others, I really fear for us if not as we then go into games against ManUtd, Arsenal & Brighton (3 of the next 4 after int’ll break)

Or suspensions.
Looking at how fast the yellow & red came out for McBurnie , I wonder if the PL refs are sniggering about our lack of a line-leading striker for Sunday ?

I think Bournemouth have been incredibly lucky the last two games gaining 2 draws despite the oppression hitting the woodwork at least 4 times

surely they cant stay that lucky for the entire season

Apologies if this is posted elsewhere but I’m surprised we aren’t appealing against the second yellow- incredibly harsh?

Wtf is median difficulty based on?
We've played teams sitting in 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th and 18th.
The mean position of that lot is top half isn't it? Not sure who the other bottom 5 have played so far but let's not say it's an easy start, particularly with the makeshift selections we've needed to make early on to get the players we wanted in..

It says in the pic, it's based on Opta Power Rankings. I don't know how they calculate that but it's explained on the internet somewhere. But presumably they take a lot of factors into account other than just league position after 5 matches, like you did vas borbokis, which would have Man Utd as an easier game than Palace or Forest which is unlikely.

Opta are a joke ever since they partnered with all the big gambling sites.

How would 29 and 31 points have kept anyone up when 4th bottom had 39 and 36 ? Are you one of those people that thinks if u are in 3rd place in a race and overtake the person in 2nd you go to first

You just need to beat third bottom. You don't need as much as the 4th bottom on those tables.

The 4th from bottom team only needed 31 & 29 points to stay up - 39 & 35 meant they were safe with games to spare 🙄

Oh i see I was under the impression that to stay up u needed to finish 4th bottom silly me

The 4th from bottom team only needed 30 & 32 points to stay up - 39 & 36 meant they were safe with games to spare 🙄
True but I guarantee if 3rd bottom had got 33 they would have gone down

🤣🤣 so if u get more points than 3rd bottom but fewer than 4th bottom where do u finish ?
If you get more points than 3rd bottom then you, by definition, or not in the bottom 3

I hope you are asking this ironically

Ok I'll rephrase my question if you accumulate fewer points than the team that finish 4th bottom where do you finish ?
