Yes, we have posters who think we have turned down 3 bids for Speed to talk to other clubs as their manager only to bring in Lee Clark when/if Blackwell goes.

Didn't we go through this with McCall though Bob only for McCabe to cast him aside when crunch time came ?

I appreciate the situation when Warnock left is completely different to what it would be now but is Speed any bigger a name than McCall was 3 years ago or do you think McCabe has changed his priorities ?

I can't remember turning down multiple bids for his services, also he was an assistant manager. To the best of my knowledge last season Speed was just a coach.

I'm sure Bradford came in for McCall and we then insisted on a 'no speak' clause in his final year with us.
All I'm saying is, there were ITK's saying McCall was being groomed to take over from Warnock in the same way Speed is supposedly sat there waiting now. I'm just not sure McCabe would risk Speed for the same reasons he didn't entertain McCall unless of course, he's showing far more behind the scenes than McCall did.

Well as I said Speed isn't an assistant manager he is a coach, and I can't remember a coach ever being stopped from taking a management role at another club, nevermind 3 times.
We have blocked his exit three times, considering we would of gotten very good compensation due to his wage I'll leave it to you to work out why?
