If owners dont pull finger out and start bringing in some genuine quality, then i can see him handing a request in soon.

Happened to him when he first signed, we got rid of any quality and replaced with shit (look how that went).

And same looks to happen again. Im sure i remember a interview last season eoth wilder talking about that gus would want to see some quality coming in and see ambition from the club, which I feel like was around January. Could be wilder playing a blinder to get owners to back him and get players through and keep hamer in January. Or I could have made it up.

He played defensively when playing Liverpool at home. He was tasked with keeping an eye on McAllister and he did a good job of it. He can play that role and did so for Coventry too. But for our team to work and for Hamer to play that role, we need better players and more rigid style in how we play. We play very loose and spontaneously with O'Hare and Hamer on the pitch. Which was fine when Souttar, Anel, Souza were on the pitch. The way we play currently with the players we have and how we set up, gives both too much ground to cover and runs the risk of Hamer getting sent off with petulant fouls.

Not sure he’s reliable enough to build a team around him. He’s certainly no Illeman N’Diaye (who was consistently impressive , hardworking and saw plenty of the ball) and last season Hamer had many games where he was quiet and not that involved. He was voted Championship player of the season but I think that was mainly down to watching a fantastic highlights package. If people watched the whole match they’d see many games where he didn’t do much.

However what makes Hamer special was his ability to perform a brilliant killer pass creating a goal or scoring a goal out of nothing. Last season there were a few games where we looked poor….then Hamer would score from nothing and we’d sit back defending in numbers and win 1-0.

This season Selles has actively tried to get Hamer more involved by moving him from the left wing into a more central free role position but he has been surprisingly poor so he’d be no loss based on the last 4 games, however several of our players have suddenly lost form so who knows.

Of course we should always try to keep and find a way to exploit our most talented players. If there is a Hamer sale then I suppose it depends how the club decides to use that money. I’m waiting until the close of the window before I make judgements on how we’ve done.
