He fits the profile of what were trying to achieve under the "Blades way"

Why was he bought ?

Because he was a highly rated lower league player who we took a punt on to develop.

We've ended up playing him more than we wanted to I'd imagine.

I've seen enuff ................. get shut !

Whilst he's been caught out.... You've also got to look at the players around him... He often gets pulled out of position trying to cover others and simply isn't fast enough to do both jobs.

On the flip side, his quality cross won us the game the other day.

I sort of agree Foxy....... but get rid ! :D

Strange how Blackwell talked about wanting players with pace and he has non. he must have known this before we got him.

Spot on. Pace is vital in today's game. We are sadly lacking & Blackwell's transfer dealings have made things worse.

'Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?'

Oddball

Taylor is decent for a backup player.
Looked at fault for both goals today and I haven't taken to him. I don't think he is good enough.

Sorry Foxy but of all your attempts to stand up for Blackwell this will take some beating.

Does he ever sign a player to actually play in the first team? Are you being paid by Blackwell to spout this type of stuff,

The bloke is way way out of his depth. Coyle didn't need a tactical plan today other than just attack down our left.

How is it an attempt to stand up for Blackwell?

These are the exact reasons we purchased him are they not?

Believe it or not, not everything has to be an attack or defence of the manager.

Paid to state the obvious? come on? Still, I'm glad you value my input and opinion so.

Pray, tell.... What do you think our reasons for purchasing him were?

Some of the blame lies with Blackwell but it is the scouts that are supposed to be following these players accessing them thoroughly before we move for them.
Perhaps the scouting system needs dealing with.

great question because he's shit!

Thank you ...............
to elabourate a little: who spotted him ? what did they see in him? who else agreed with them ? what did cheap as chips think ? who sanctioned the purchase ? lots of questions ...... sorry !

How old is Taylor ?
He's shite but like Evans could be very young learning his trade and we must give him loads of time to improve!
I thought he's about 27 and if that is the case Blackwell can't use that lame excuse!

He's 23. 24 in March.

Its needed addressing for years.

does nobody else think we should give jordan stewart a chance??!?!?!? he looks a lot better than taylor!

maybe give him a chance but i think he is a poor signing also and wont help us out that much.

Stewart won't get much better and is nothing more than a stopgap. Taylor is at an age where he could show great improvement in the next year or so. And probably needs to...

I'd much rather we sign players like Taylor than Stewart. Some will pay back in spades, others will not.

Foxy - I assumed you said above that Blackwell has played Taylor more than he wanted too. Is that what you meant? In other words, you think KB signed him as a 'development' player, like Ward and Evans? Maybe I've misunderstood what you meant. That for me is standing up for Blackwell - you are supporting the signing of Taylor. He is weak and slow - the exact opposite of a modern day player for me.

I assume Blackwell bought Taylor because he thought he was capable of being a solid and capable left back. I don't think he is.

When you lack the basic fundamentals of pace and strength you have little chance of improving in my opinion.

I think Geary has played at left back in the past.

Maybe he should be given a chance there.

I think i'd sooner have Del boy in than Taylor. However Geary really struggled in the FA cup game away at QPR. He was all over the place in the 1st half. That said he improved as the game went on. Also his positional sense is pretty good. Taylor's is woeful. Taylor is an absolute laibility and shouldn't be let anywhere near the first team.
