Is he that good? Must admit that the only time I have seen him play was our game down there this season but he didn’t look anything special to me. Athletic yes but I thought he was poor on the ball and his positioning wasn’t great either. I’m surprised that so many people seem to rate him but that might well be down to ignorance on my part.

Slim. He won’t want to go far away from London or to another Championship side.

Not ideal - release clause significant. Less if transferred to a PL club. Unsure how Millwall would handle this. 8 figures to non PL side apparently.

Truckloads both in terms of transfer fee, signing on fee and wages.

It’s probably (comfortably) out of our reach but we should at least be trying !!!

Stats wise he doesn't seem that special compared to other CBs in the division (his pass completion stats are amongst the worst in the league - but I suppose that depends on who he's passing to as much as his own ability - Jake Cooper, his CB partner, has the worst pass completion in the league for CBs).

On the other hand, Millwall fans rave about him and Wolves were apparently interested earlier on in the window, so there's obviously something there. Just based on how much they rate him I think he could be a very good asset, but I was reading their forum and someone who may or may not have been speaking ITK suggests the club would be willing to cash in on him for a similar fee for what Esse left for, which was around £12m, so I assume that would price us out (others suggested he'd turned down bigger clubs to play for Millwall, so he might not even want to join us!)

Even in the Berge, Brewster, Mcburnie days, l didn't feel this level of hope that we have owners capable of going for it. It's mad seeing us, as a club, not hampered by the money side of the game.
