Even if this transfer doesn't come off, it's one of the best set of transfer windows I think I've seen in my life time for us. Getting Tanganga in would be the cherry on the cake.
It's still stuck with me the relegation interview with Wilder after Newcastle sent us down, where he was very emotional:
"And for me final bit for me, the final bit, the best part of the football club is those people up in the stands that have stayed right the way to the end and have had to endure a lot of poor football this season. They've travelled, they've earned their money, they've been there and supported us; and rightly so they've walked out on games, games where I've been the manager and I've got no issue with that because is has not been good enough. But it will be good enough next year, it will be 100% good enough next year, they'll not be walking out, they'll be there in the stands, home and away and we will get it right and get the club back to where we feel it should be."
It's not just been a brilliant rebuild, but a very smart rebuild, especially in the summer balancing the books during the uncertainty of the sale of the club.
Fantastic work from Chris, Bettis and everyone involved in an excellent season of business which gets shrugged off by your average football fan with "parachute payments, init?"

According to Transfer markt - Most expensive defender bought by a Championship team is 12M Euros.

I think Tanganga will be close to that if we are serious.
Agree but you do understand there’s a catch.
It’s not free money..the investors will be keen to see a return.
If the owners show ambition then will the fans show the same ambition and accept a ticket increase?
My prediction is no, most Sheffielders don’t want quality and prefer cheap and cheerful…..hope I’m wrong…we’ll see.
Also regards Tanganga…..been reading the Millwall forum and they already rate him as too good for the Championship.
They’re worried he’ll join a Premier league team in this January window because he has a release clause to a PL club in his contract.
I saw one Millwall fan say they should be asking for £15 million for him….don’t think getting him is realistic….i’d be shocked.
Agree, but I don't think tickets are where they'll be looking to make their money. Perhaps the more likely route for making money is to become a club that flips players. We've recently seen with Bogle, Osula, Jebbo and Illman that we can develop and make a profit on players. They won't all work, but maybe it's going to become part of the strategy.
I couldn't agree anymore...Yeah I got that.
I was merely pointing out that £3m for Dunne is daft, and if there is no significant shift in stance from QPR, we SHOULD be upping our spend on a better player in Tanganga as it represents better VFM even though it’s lots more !
UTB
Yeah agreed.I couldn't agree anymore...
But, we don't actually know our budget. You could argue the Cannon money should have been split over CB and CF if we cant afford more in what most of see as a priority position, but maybe it hasn't been and we are all spent up.
Its a fine line, people say we don't need to stretch to Premier League signings yet as we aren't even there, it's not our money, it's easy to just say "spend more".
But, is Dunne going to tighten us up enough to even get promoted? Obviously this all comes down to Wilder, the scouts and the board. I just think Dunne is a Wilder signing, and I can't see him going for anyone else now at this late stage.
Who's he ?Gone for Rob Holding instead... great!
Played over 100 games for Arsenal, now frozen out at Palace.Who's he ?
Who's he ?
Well , if he's played for Arsenal - crack on - did you see them yesterday ? This guy could be the answer ---? No ?Played over 100 games for Arsenal, now frozen out at Palace.
Clarke could miss out if Femi comes back firing, JRS if he doesn't find some form, or Alfie if he keeps this form up. It's tough on them, but it IS squad game.Has barely played football for 2 seasons.
A poor January signing, in my opinion.
Meanswe have to leave a loanee out of the matchday squad.
Agree…I’ve realised that tickets don’t bring in that much money.
However it’s not stopped other clubs raising their prices to extortionate levels.
The Leicester City season tickets are decent but if you’re not a season ticket holder it’s £50 a match.
Leicester had a waiting list of season ticket applications and did plan to expand their stadium capacity but at £50 a match they’re now struggling to fill the ground.
Saw on the news recently that Man Utd are planning to increase their tickets to £60 a match.
My point is….if match day tickets don’t bring in much revenue then why are wealthy PL clubs doing it?
Wonder how often they'll fill it when they're in League OneMan U wouldn’t be spending billions on a new stadium if it was going to make them money. Granted, they’ll make a shit load from the corporates, but they’ll no doubt also make a decent return from the cheaper seats.
Tanganga sounds like an absolute non-starter if we’ve been put off by their asking price. I’m not sure what we expected.
They're must a known Millwall wanted big money for him in first place, if we couldn't meet Qpr's asking price utd stood f*** hall chance getting the Millwall lad if report is trueSlightly understandable why Millwall would be willing to take the loss on him and not cash in now. They're only 4 points off the play-offs and having watched them a few times this season, set-pieces are something they've worked on, with Cooper and Tanganga scoring 4 goals between them, notably in games they've either won 1-0 or drawn 1-1. They also made 12m in January with the sale of Esse and money coming with the obligation of Burnley to buy Flemming. If I was unlucky enough to be a Millwall fan, I'd be dead set against letting him go for 2m.
It is not necessarily about being able to meet QPRs asking price but whether the player is worth that amount in the view of the clubThey're must a known Millwall wanted big money for him in first place, if we couldn't meet Qpr's asking price utd stood f*** hall chance getting the Millwall lad if report is true
That’s why he’s no longer at ArsenalWell , if he's played for Arsenal - crack on - did you see them yesterday ? This guy could be the answer ---? No ?
