Going right back to the top, it is an interesting question.

I have been a lot more positive since I stopped going to the away games after Forest last season.
I was sick of seeing us play negative shite away from home and being told that it was OK because we were "getting results". To me, you play well and positively and the results will follow, so away games were becoming tedious and frustrating.

Since I've stopped going all I worry about is the result and so I have no problem regarding the performance or tactics or anything.
Once Blackwell has gone and I return to away action then I've no doubt the old anxiety will return.

Watching on the box is poor substitute to being there for so many reasons.

As for this whole debate, what really gets on my tits is the assumptions made by so many (has to be said mainly by the 'Blackwell out at all costs' brigade). Being a member of the 'liberal clapper' wing does not make me an admirer of Blackwell. It doesn't make me a non-questioning advocate of everything the club does. I'm not blind to everything that is going on at the club nor reacting in an ostrich stylie. Proclaiming McCabe as the best Chairman of the club in my lifetime does not constitute a declaration that he's perfect, never made any mistake and is indeed the Messiah. Choosing to decide that clubs who constantly chop and change management teams are generally not successful and that stability and continuity (although boring) may be the better way, does not lessen my devotion as a Blade. Opting for a constructive rather than a destructive reaction to situations does not mean I like things as they are.

Finally, I counsel lots and lots of people through traumatic situations. Relationships often crop up as an important part of this process. If you can only see the negative, the problems, the wrongs and the faults, then you have lost the love you had for that person and if you cannot see beyond that to what first made that relationship important to you, it's time to end it.

Linz, Foxy. You get me all wrong. Going to a game should be applauded. Over the past 40 years or so i missed a handful of home games and probably averaged half to 2/3rd of the away games.

What i am saying is, Linz's cleverly disguised post (imo) was a "..... you lot who didnt bother going to Barnsley didnt see what we saw who were actually at the game....why is that??....why are you so negative??....blah blah"

I dont care what you say, i know what i saw. Yes we showed spirit, but that to me is the minimum requirement. Perhaps the ability to actually control the ball and pass it 5 yards to a player should also be a requirement of a professional footballer.

And please dont try to pretend that being able to see the whole pitch makes up for the all the other things that tv coverage gives....replays, slow mo, close ups of incidents perhaps 90 yards from where you are standing on the terracing, perhaps behind a pillar, perhaps being a behind a big fat geezer stood there waving his pie.... etc etc.

Choose to read into my post what you will... I thought it was fairly unambiguous.

The crowd at Barnsley were fairly supportive. The crowd on here after weren't.

I was questioning why this was and if it was generally the case.

I dont care what you say, i know what i saw.

Then why be on a forum that discusses opinions if you don't care what people say? :)

Actually, yes, my final point was not worded very well. Its not that i dont care what you say..................that should have been worded..."i dont agree with what you say" ;)

oh and by the way, i am a big fat geezer who has been known to have the odd pie every now and again ;-)

Just a thought Linz, how about a poll?

Went to Oakwell, positive [ ]
Went to Oakwell, negative [ ]
Watched on Sky, positive [ ]
Watched on Sky, negative [ ]
Listened on RS, positive [ ]
Listened on RS, negative [ ]

Can we have 'Watched on Sky, thought the performance wasn't great but battled well and a good point under the circumstances' ?

Though buried and missed buy some of the more vitriolic on here, thanks for the bit of "wisdom", credit to your avatar. Ta.
