I agree with those saying we need to blow the budget on a quality striker and wide man. One of the reasons our crossing is poor is because full backs are doing the crossing...let's get a proper winger in and a shit hot forward to play alongside Billy or Leon with the other as back up. If we can't afford a ready made forward I'd get Wyke in from Bradford as I think he's a potential star

The only problem being Utd don't play with wingers. As Ricky says, delivery from out wide comes from wing backs (or overlapping CBs!)

In case we stay in the Championsship here some names from Ajax who would be a great addition to the squad I think:

Mitchell Dijks (AFC Ajax, leftback, Fee: Free transfer. Not sure If he would be down since he rejected Norwich last year, but last summer and this winter he couldn't find a club so maybe he lowers his demands.)

Noussair Mazraoui (AFC Ajax, allround midfielder, can also play in the attack or at the right back position if needed. Fee: Free transfer. This guy would be an outstanding signing and would be one of the best players from Sheffield United instantly I think. If you offer him a decent amount of money and a good perspective you should be able to sign him.

Kaj Sierhuis (AFC Ajax, striker Fee: Loan. All-round striker who just scores goals and goals and goals. Don't think he's ready for Ajax 1 next season, especially if Dolberg stays with us so he would be available for loan.

Wrote above 2 months ago. Alright, Mazraoui is officially part of the AFC Ajax selection and he's not possible anymore as I heard he's going to re-sign at AFC Ajax.

Dijks and Sierhuis are both still possible and really think they are pretty decent for the Championsship. Dijks is just a solid left back. Sierhuis is special and think he could be a sensation here.

Dominic Solanke from Liverpool on loan for a season. Wages high but no worse than spending 1million on an average div 1 striker. He should know Jamal and he needs games to make the next step up at Liverpool.

Wyke from Bradford??. I'm not so sure. My brother in law( Bradford season ticket holder). Says that he's not really shown his potential this season!.
Admittedly that might have something to do with the management change halfway through the season and their current team setup. It would be a risk.
I just think we need to aim higher if we don't want to stagnate in this division!. I M O.

Another thing to consider is that a lot of this seasons key performers are the wrong side of 30, Sharp, Duffy, Clarke, Stearman even Donaldson (although that would be stretching things to claim Don as key)

We have to think about how much longer they can keep going at this level, once you hit that wall the legs can go quickly it may already have happened to Donaldson (and possibly Clarke) so we may have to consider cover and replacements in more areas than what we think.

I can’t see the ownership being resolved much this side of Xmas so funds are going to be limited in the summer. We may sadly have to sacrifice Brooks to the Premiership sharks to get what we need to keep afloat next season. I just hope we don’t under value him.

Mo Eisa is a no brainer for a club like us, given the value of decent strikers these days.

I could probably come round to the idea of signing Sam Winnall. I'd take Lucas Joao too.

Sam Winnall is as far from a CW type as you'd get unfortunately, which is a shame as i think he's a decent player.

The reason Barnsley and now Wednesday let him go is due to his temperament and bullying attitude towards anyone seen as weaker than him ie younger players.

If we want to upset the team spirit we've got then get him signed. If not then stay well away.

The fact is there is another Callum Wilson out there, we just don't know who it is yet. Wilders job is to find him early

Ryan christie from Celtic is somebody we should go for. He has been on loan at Aberdeen the past few seasons and been one of our best if not the best player. Celtic are recalling him and he is unlikely to get a look in the Celtic team with the squad they have. Around 750k should get him.

That's an interesting shout. Who else do you think could be worth a look, from Aberdeen and the SPL in general?

Graeme Shinnie has looked like a good player when I've seen him. Left back or central midfield, good on the ball and I assume could play the LWB role.
