Agree that he needs to cut out the histrionics. To be fair to him, I also think he doesn't get much out of refs but whether it's a boy who cried wolf situation is debatable.

I did have to laugh last night when a QPR player had him in a headlock straight in front of the ref, and got nothing.

Not one game at all, Swansea Preston Birmingham QPR that's 4 games yes he scored a tap in at Preston but was dire same against brum good finish but all round not good enough he has a long way to go yet an 5 goals doesn't cover up the absolute dross he's turfed out for 2 seasons.
Billy has often played shite in a game and popped up with a goal

There is absolutely no basis, at all, to criticize McBurnie based on THIS season. Infact if it wasn't for his form I'm not sure where we'd be, certainly not top of the league.

Yes mate hard task master. Two bookings for jumping in the crowd. First time understandable because he ain’t scored for years but to do it again knowing a booking would follow is just immature and last nights crazy booking after the game means he hasn’t considered the team at all now suspended immature so sometime on the bench to focus his mind
Don't understand how any fan can support his antics appealing to the ref all the time ! Yes he is hard donby by refs.
if he just got on with it he will get more decisions.
When he starts throwing himself around (and he does) refs just turn away as sometimes it quite comical what he does
and defenders love it as they are winning the battle when he throws himself to the floor (and he does ).
I'm beginning to think Heckie is a bit soft in tackling this type of behaviour, it's nothing new he did it in the prem too..
Agreed he gives it is best shot ! Needs to be more street wise ! He is mid twenties now so really is very nieve if expecting refs to fall for his exaggerated antics.
Sort it Heckie

I think you need to think why did the ref not give it.
Obviously a reason! A fouls a foul so it's baffling sometimes when this happens! Getting the refs backup dunt help does it.

Hecky's not stupid - if he sees Mr Silly Bollocks raising his ugly head again I'm sure he'll get on top of McBurnie and make him focus. Sounds like he's a tough taskmaster on Oli and exactly the sort of management he needs to get the best out of him.

I expect Ollie to change his ways then ! cus he really does need to change his ways and not dive around .
Maybe he might get more decisions from the ref.

Last night's referee was in the oppositions pocket all night, the penalty with berge was a disgrace.

The ref should be investigated..

There are two fouls there. Sure, one is more obvious and extreme than the other, but both are fouls under the rules of football.

That's very true, his goals have masked several poor performances.
Anyway he's out for Stoke game, so we'll see what Billy or Brewster have to offer
If he plays well, he's not good enough because he isn't scoring - But if he scores, he's masking a bad performance?

Maybe just accept that he's scoring goals, and that's the main thing we need from our striker?

The non foul on him early in the game when the centre back used him as a climbing frame was unreal, the linesman darent give anything as the big I am ref wanted complete control, he was fucking useless. No excuse for McBurnie as he has to rise above it, but it is frustrating to say the least.
That's it exactly he has to accept refs are hard to please as far as he is concerned just get on with it yes its tough I can understand ! reacting like he does gets him no where as I said ! the penny has to drop sooner or later with a prod from Heckie.
It must be frustrating for him watching Mcbernie diving around.
A different attitude might buy him some justice as what he's doing gets him nothing.

I may be going back 30+ years but I thought you could only get sent off after the final whistle and not booked ?
Rules must have changed. He definitely got shown the yellow card, whether it stands or not I'm not sure. Knowing our luck they'll upgrade it to a red.

Just turning to playing matters rather than the politics of yellow cards ..... last night Bogle and RND were enjoying good possession down that left flank in the first half. MCBurnie (plus Brewster and Sharp) need to be on their toes to get ahead of the defenders in order to get to those hard low crosses first.

McBurnie did it against Reading a few weeks ago.

It must be frustrating for RND and Bogle to deliver and find the forwards are stood on their heels. QPR defenders are being praised on other threads. To be honest we made it easy for them.

Good plan. Wait two years, then drop him now he's scoring.
Pure genius.

Very true, likely his injury would have ruled him out v stoke anyhow, so works out well re the suspension. His aggression is infantile but part of his character and like you say five goals is a decent return. By comparison Brewster is passive almost lackadaisical in his demeanor. Personally I think he needs some of MCB's aggression, passion, whatever you want to call it, as he floats through minutes and just doesn't seem interested or on it.

I watched him for ten minutes one home game, just him, he was static, no movement, no runs, he just doesn't have the football brain, needed for the role he supposedly fills. One magic moment v Swansea and that is that for him. He's either thick or arrogant, if you can't learn the basics from billy sharp after serving an apprenticeship at anfield god help him.

Call me old fashionable but I like my strikers to offer a bit more than just scoring goals, such as giving defenders a hard time and assists.
McBurnie was doing this for a few games, but recently he's regressed to his previous poor performances. Can't argue with his recent goal record though.

I'm lost here, where does it say drop him in any bit of what I've wrote??
The conversation you were adding to:

He’s drifting back to what he’s been since arriving. Wouldn’t start him for a few games to focus his mind

What?! One game. Albeit stupit. But Jesus christ , I hope you don't manage anyone!!

The thing with Billy is his record gives him plenty In the bank PLENTY, however Mcburnie will receive critiscm from people when he starts to revert back to the shit that we've become so accustomed to until he starts to produce on a regular basis. He's got to produce week in week out for more than 5 games out of 2.5 seasons.

I care about the here and now; not 2 years ago

Ndiaye up front. Let's face it he's not a striker but can play there and our biggest goal threat.
