All credit to the Rotherham Manager. He has done an exceptional job at Rotherham and it will be interesting to watch his team function this evening. League 1 presents it's own challenges and they have achieved a thoroughly consistent level of performance throughout the season. We should aspire to such a level of consistency next season.

Apart from the vague memory of an "iffy" past, I know little about the bloke. He always looks a rough diamond on telly but talks sense in radio interviews.

I recall his reaction to missing out on Taylor when he signed for us. He said "every player has his price and Sheffield are paying too much; good player but not that good". That struck me as a manager who knew exactly what he was about and one who was very careful with his budget. Obviously he can judge a player, work to a budget and motivate his squad. Taylor would have been better served signing for them.

I didn't know about his dodgy past until recently, and have only heard him on the radio but he really grates with me.

Apart from being Jockanese, which is normally enough, he says "football club", when "club" would do and "football matches" when "matches" would suffice, we know what game and team he's talking about and is using more words as though that will make him sound more intelligent..

Most annoying of all is his smugness, which just pervades every banality he utters. I don't begrudge Rotherham their success, but that bloke makes my teeth itch with his unwarranted arrogance.

Mickey Adams used to do that a lot, and it used to grate on me (although I could have let it go if the standard of football was better).

Evans is a Scottish Warnock, but he deserves respect for what he has done/is doing at Rotherham. Last season I made a few Rotherham matches (free tickets on days United weren't playing) and they have some good players who have made the step up; Agard, O'Connor & Pringle & Arnason are all standout players.

Tonight will be a difficult game, they are slightly open defensively but Agard, Pringle, Frecklington & Tavernier are a constant threat going forward. If we can nullify them similar to how we did against Brentford & Leyton Orient we might nick a result, but the back four & Doyle will be in for a tough time.

Most Scots say "football match" and "penalty kick", just listen to Moyes and his big mate Ferguson. Also they always say "boy" which is the one that annoys me, but surely it's no big deal, they're just Scots. I'm sure plenty of folk hate our dialect and I must say the Derby dialect isn't that appealing, even when the Messiah speaks it.

Cant take away what he has achieved at 'the small town near Sheffield', but he does 'grate' on my nerves. Shows what you can achieve though without huge budgets.

Hate his guts. (and there's a lot of them)

Frustrating, as I have always 'supported' Rovrum since I was a lad, and look out for their results. However, this guy really is a self-obsessed two hat, and his head will nearly burst if they get promoted again. Hopefully they go up and he gets sacked for overeating on the manager's food expenses.

I always looked out for the local clubs in my younger days and wanted them to do well. I still do for Chesterfield, but as for the others my sympathy's have changed.
Rotherham - Having met a few Rotherham fans, I cannot believe the bitter chip they have out of their shoulders relating to us.Particularly after their bucket collections when they nearly disappeared, the attitude is sad and pathetic, I would rather see Russ Slade and LO get promoted.
Doncaster - Remember being chuffed to bits when they regained their league status. Unfortunately they have short memories and have a similar attitude to Rotherham, suddenly thinking they are a massive club. The gloating when we got relegated was unreal, they do well to punch well above their weight in the Championship.
Barnsley - Thick dingle two hats, need I say more!

Love the comments on the ref there....

If he watches the dvd back he might not think its a pen..

I will still think its a pen whatever the dvd looks like....

Is there any point talking to them???

No lad.....

But where's the hammering mate???

To think we could have ended up with that as our manager, they'll get found out next season regardless of what division they are in.

Used to have a soft spot for them, I too put money in their buckets outside our ground, thought loaning them some players while we paid their wages was great and made me proud as a Blade. 'Kin short memories with massive chips on each shoulder now aren't they, singing Rotherham til I die, do me a favour.

I couldn't see any of the South Stand from my seat in the John Street stand....the fat bar steward. As for the toytown simpletons - they will be back down to 4000 at home in a couple of seasons.

Looked like he'd just come from a lunchtime session. Belly overhanging trousers having burst the bottom two buttons on his short. Tie overhanging belt and flies. What a mess.

Also, he talked shite about a clear foul on Harry by a fucking numpty who'd already been warned twice by a ref who was watching him like a hawk.

Type 2 is pure comedy gold. His team, on a 15 game unbeaten run, couldn't beat a team with 1 win in 6 and 8 changes that ended with 5 academy players on the pitch.

Very descriptive I'm sure Pinchy.

Evans post match interview was a joy to hear. It fitted right in with every other one I've heard when they've lost, it's always the ref's fault, he's even more one-eyed than Warnock.

On the penalty, as others have said, he claimed a couple of stonewallers for them and of course ours was no such thing. He said the ref had told him that even if looked at the replays, it would still be a penalty and with that attitude, there's no point in talking to refs.

I'm pretty sure the point Dean was making was that he was 100% certain it was a pen, so looking at the video wouldn't make him doubt his decision, Evans is too thick to understand that.

Does Steve Evans, see a different DVD of the game to us, he said that the DVD, that he saw straight after the game finished clearly shows it was not a penalty, if it is the same footage as they showed on Sky, then you cannot really see the incident. As for the penalty shout on Davies, there was no way from where he was that he could see if there was a handball, to many people in front of him, and Davies had his back to him , he went of as though Davies had caught the ball, run with it, and then started playing again. Who was the other bloke in the technical area with him, because he was just as big a knob.
