If they're not all right wing and they're not lefties and do gooders then what the bloody hell are all those people at Ponds Forge toneet??

Knitting ?
I've served on the streets of Northern Ireland and lived in the jungles of South America
Shove your stone island up your fucking Arse
Your avatar is a Blades hooligan badge but you seem to be wetting yourself about Cowens’ BBC past.

The fall from grace for professional footballers, eh. They’ll do owt to be idolised for another couple of hours.

Some bad press for Steve Cowans on here but I always found him ok , we all made some bad decisions in our youth … didn’t we ?
He’s done a lot for charity in recent years so he’s not all bad !

Nothing personal against the bloke. I just have no time for hoolie nostalgia, or the tendency to fetishise it as a working class subculture.

Tonight’s line up is bloody impressive - hope folk enjoy.

Quick review for you all as I had to leave a bit early.

Met Steve and his wife, both lovely.
Huge turnout.
Gary Sinclair was on form.
Comedian was very good (also Nobby Stiles's lad).
The bar was a joke.
The raffle and prizes were fantastic.
I saw some all time heroes.
And I honesly teared up when Wilder came onto the stage to "he's one of our own" (and no, he didn't slag off the Prince or make excuses).

I get that this is a forum and I kinda understand why people would would avoid nights like this but it was a good one, and me and my old man had a fantastic time reminiscing and drinking over priced, warm beer.

What sad ,bitter lives some people live. Not the footballers.
You know nothing of the life of those you interact with on the internet.

The majority of footballers go from being in the spotlight, well paid, living a blue-ticked, celeb-like lifestyle before fading in to nothingness after retirement. That will be hard to take for some. A night out with a bunch of football fans who used to watch them would be a welcome trip down memory lane.

Especially if they’re paid to be there. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What did Wilder have to say FTPE?

Glad you and your old man enjoyed it by the way! 👍

I would guess Wilder kept it quiet, I imagine he was asked a few times for a snippet or two.
Shame really

From the link Chingo provided:

“No more violence books, I’ve moved on in my life but I am currently writing about my life as a Sheffield United fan thanks to this fake scamdemic bullshit.”

“I can’t plan anything at the moment so my life is on hold. I really think this is more about control than the actual health of people.”

What a twat.

It’s his opinion….like arseholes everyone’s got one.
There may well be many subjects you would agree on….I agree with some of Johnson’s ideas, not many mind…whereas Starmer just says the opposite of whatever Johnson says, I struggle to agree with much of him…either way both of them are twats.

Best hope the security running the doors weren't from Nottingham.

'The bar was a joke' is the biggest understatement I've ever heard 😂

To be honest nothing.
It was a very "arse licking" night as many on here would put it. We thanked him, said how great he'd been etc etc but to us personally he didn't give anything away. Though I'd make a shit interviewer.

I've been sticking up for the event on here for the past few days so I thought I'd skim over a few negatives, but between you and me (since you obviously went)... the bar shat on the entire to be honest.

Still, happy to be out, and surrounded by Blades.

A fair opinion on the pandemic would be something like the merit/success of our lockdowns, not whether we were actually experiencing a pandemic.

My opinion on that is lockdowns are necessary, but need to be done proactively and be strict, so that we have them for as little time as possible.

That's not what we did here.

We are in pandemic though, that's not up for debate, even if you've been fortunate and not had it come to visit your household, you don't have to spend too long asking around to find someone who can vouch for Covid not being a scam.
