Steel City Derby Watch Along - On Sale Now

Tough audience here AmandaProvan

But that’s a big error to be giving away Lancashire Barms in Yorkshire 😂

I’m sure it’ll be full as it’s an alright venue for those into this style of boozer

I’ll be drinking Keo in the sunshine with a halloumi and lounza pitta

I’d love to be watching the derby in the Cypriot sunshine, but if doing so required me to drink Keo all match, I’d rather sit and watch it in The Old Crown, on Penistone Rd and drink my own piss.

The food deal is fair, but it was always going to decend into "butty gate" as you slipped there..

There are people on this forum waiting like the German general in inglorious b##dards for you to slip up, so when posting get a Sheffielder to proof read your thread before submitting it..

The breadcake gestapo will be knocking on the hotel door shortly to take you away.. so get hiding under the floor boards sharpish.

That opening post's an absolute car crash - verging on gaslighting, even.

"DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield City (just a minute’s walk from Bramall Lane)"

First, insults our intelligence by telling us where the hotel at our own club's ground is - as if we don't know. Then, in telling us where it is, actually gets it wrong - what does "just a minute's walk from Bramall Lane" mean, here? If the OP's using Bramall Lane as the name of the road here, the hotel isn't a minute's walk from it, as the hotel's clearly on Bramall Lane, as the OP's own photo clearly shows. On the other hand, if the OP's using Bramall Lane as the name of the ground here, again, the hotel isn't a minute's walk from it, as the hotel is clearly at the ground - again, as the OP's own photo clearly shows. If the OP wanted to make sure we realised which Double Tree by Hilton the "Sheffield City" one is, why not put (Bramall Lane) in brackets after it, rather than (just a minute's walk from Bramall Lane) in brackets after it, which, as I say, is both insulting to our intelligence and inaccurate.

Then, as if insulting our intelligence by (inaccurately) telling us where the hotel at our own ground is, isn't bad enough, the "barm" nonsense -

Who in their right mind comes onto a forum of a Yorkshire club - a Yorkshire club with a Yorkshire rose as a major part of its emblem/badge, no less - and uses a Lancashire word to describe the thing they're trying to sell you?!

The standard English word for what the OP's referring to is "bap", the standard Sheffield word is "breadcake", and the standard word if you were trying to appeal to Sheffield United supporters, would be "butty", obviously.
I would've had no problem with, and in fact would've expected, the standard English word "bap" being used. Or, if you were using a regional word in an attempt to be 'cool', breadcake. Or, if you were trying to appeal to a group of people whose anthem is known as "The Greasy Chip Butty", butty obviously.
But no, use a Lancashire word, on a Yorkshire club's forum?!

On the off-chance that the OP isn't just trolling us with this Lancastrian nonsense, I'm just gonna stick this link here, so they can see the size of the faux pas, they've made:

So, in summary...

Yer pays ya money and takes ya choice. No need for the pile on from some of you. Some of us like the Cricketers some of us prefer a chic hotel bar. Nothing wrong with either and good that she is letting us know what's available in the 'club' hotel.
Nowt wrong wi a good old piss tek, either

Give her a break. She’s saying you’re welcome and that the game will be shown. Yes it’s not cheap and there’s no real ale, but for some that’s fine and it’s better than wandering around trying to find somewhere showing it and asking to be let in. I wonder if we should start a thread asking for closest celebratory boozer after? Last year they were either closed or pig full until well into town.

Stork SB, hopefully.
Surely its all been decided by AI, and its a Bulgarian second rate specialty that no one has ever heard of or seen.?

She’s saying you’re welcome provided you’ve got £13.50 for a Lancashire sandwich and a pint of fizzy drink….

Its just a sandwich mate...

Not for me, but they’re just promoting their business. Plenty of pubs and Greggs if 13.50 is a bit rich for your blood.

I’ll be watching at home and my sandwich will definitely be on a bread cake, not even an artisan one

But will you be watching from behind your settee, like Houston_Blade if he forgets his sleeping pills and accidentally wakes up in time, or will you be facing it head on? These are the seemingly insignificant little details, it's important for us to know! 😉

For myself, I doubt I'll be watching it - hate these games and usually only watch them if I'm there in person, and this one's away so no chance I'm going there, because 🐖🤢 - but if I do somehow end up watching it, I'll be watching from behind my teddy bear! 🧸💖⚔️

It is, as shorehamview rightly pointed out .... a Lancashire sandwich! 😱
On a Yorkshire forum!

For people who do not appreciate the gravity of this heinous wrong, I recommend you peruse this handy little guide to the most significant conflict in history at your leisure!

(I feel I need to insert a little winky emoji thing here 😉, in case it's not obvious my tongue's firmly in my cheek!)

Babestation will be my go to if we’re getting humped…

Get pissed first half at home with telly off. If winning on 70mins by more than 2 goals leg it to the pub to see us lose 4-3. Remember Boxing Day, semi final etc realise it was always going to be this way as they launch the new massive era.
Then remember it's special to be a humble Blade expecting the worst and get pissed again.

For the 2-4...

I was at work, arrived home to see us 0-2 up... sat and watched us throw it away to 2-2 before that absolute delight of a bounce stopper.

I'll take that again this year.
