But less than 5% come to the Lane ?
That's embarrassing for the home of football. Less than 10% go to football in Sheffield as a whole , if you include Swillsborough.
And that's without counting the catchment area of South Yorkshire.
20% of Burnley's population attend Turf Moor , that's double in percentage terms !
Them's the figures I'd show to a billionaire - build me a 50k stadium + the marketing dept will fill it if you keep us in the PL - Sheffield is full of untapped potential + I want us to grab it before the pigs.
Burnley draw their fan base from a wide area, including West Yorkshire.

uniteds season ticket prices have been fantastic for years but matchday pricing has been too high imo hopefully with the premier league money we can keep them reasonable this season especially with away tickets capped at 30 quid

If they cut matchday pricing substantially, season ticket prices wouldn't be fantastic, do you see why?

im not saying matchday pricing needs cutting substantially just think the club are penalising fans who for one reason or another cant attend every game matchday prices were definetly too high last season and was proven by the fact we hardly sold out

With only 32k capacity , Every game better sell out next season in the PL - if not , Sheffield , with 500k population
, doesn't deserve a PL team.
FFS , we used to get 40k in 1972
How can it sell out ?

We aren't allowed to sell all 32,000 tickets

Teams like Fulham, Bournemouth, Luton won't sell out and depending on who our night matches are against a few others won't as well.

Any other club in any other city would just give half of the Bramall Lane lower tier to lesser supported teams and sell the other half to home fans, but that's not allowed at United because the police and stewards might have to actually do more than stand about scratching their bollocks all day

good point and yes it does happen at other grounds where they know the opposition wont sell out but like you say wont happen at the lane theyve even allowed it at the sty giving pig fans the bottom tier on leppings lane think weve only been allowed to do that once against chezzy in that final game fulham are a prime example their away support is pitiful yet they pack craven cottage very strange

How many seasons over the last 50 years have the Blades been in the top flight ?

Why do you think this might change ?

12 seasons , and I saw every one.

It can change because if you can just cling on in the first couple of difficult seasons , the PL income helps "smaller" clubs survive for a while , like Stoke , Burnley & others.

If you follow the Blades , you need optimism beyond the facts of the last 50 years , otherwise there's no point.

My comment was a pitch to an incoming investor

Didnt realise the Bristol and Cardiff gates were a few thousand lower than the rest and we needed the backing for them games. (Yes I know 2k away fans missing)
