Are you implying that you're a wanker, Mic?

No I'm not. However, you've just basically called me a wanker (right in the spirit of the forum as you bang on about - although you'll say it doesn't count if you do it 'cleverly' no doubt) and made a bit of a tit of yer sen.

No I haven't got a list. You take my word for it, he spent alot more than vast majority of his rivals on wages and transfer fees - do you disagree with that? He also sold alot more, obvioulsy cannot deny that and never would do, but I'm on about the resources at his disposal and there is evidence in the accounts that the wage bill was huge.

yes but he didnt sign all of the players on those huge wages. Who did he sign offereing huge wages ?

I didn't call you a wanker, I asked if you were one, which is very different, and was in the context of the post which I thought was by you, but wasn't.

Reyt, off to wipe the egg off my face.:)

Dont forget to use the resources at your disposal.:D

OK. So it wasn't some form of clever dick rhetorical question? That's great.

You have go to be kidding me? Bear in mind I am talking relative to vast majority of other clubs in the section. I'm not talking silly wages, just very, very good second tier wages. Wages that other clubs just could not offer. Loan players as well.

Well its yellow, so I bloody well hope so!!!!!

First did you buy anything nice?? Second we lost 5-0 at home to Oldham in 1988

Hope thats a FACT

'Ere, did you just call me a dick????!!!!!

I feel a 'Gentlemen please' Linz warning coming.

Just curious because i dont know, Eg Camara was a free and we didnt take him at first Blackwell didnt think he was worth it so Camere agent must have dropped wages? Do we really have any idea how much each individual player was on? Or were one or two on massively more wages than others. So of the list above Do you know that Harper (EG) was paid more than say a Blackpool player? He may have been offered more at somewhere else but thought we had better prospects?

I hope so yeah great website though have you been on?

No, not yet. Was a little concerned because some only deal in FACT. (that sometimes turns out to be fiction or opinion).

There's no mention of that on this thread. I'm not debating the merits of style vs results, just saying that Speed got some things wrong. He got the wrong formation, waited too late for substitutions and then blamed others rather than taking it on the chin.

The above is all very Blackwell like. One of my major gripes with KB was that he didn't learn from his mistakes. Let's hope that Speed can. He can make amends for Tuesday night by beating Pompey tomorrow. (imo) he should bring in Morgan, Yeates and Boggy, play 4-4-2 and attack. No place Monty.

By the way, I wasn't just digging at one person Ollie, a few have reacted far quicker than you.

I'd also like to see changes, Morg's needs to be brought back in to lead the defensive line and I really want Yeates to get a chance, I'm unsure about Boggy but he does need a chance at some point.
To be honest the tactic we are playing can work but we need the pace of Yeates and an attack minded mid like Quinn to aid who ever goes up front as many others have stated.

4-4-2 would be good but who would you play in the middle?

I don't dislike and have nothing against him Monty but personally if we played this system then I'd go with Ertl (for his height) and Britton, but then if we play this system and go out and attack like we have we'll leave major gaps in key defensive positions and run the risk of being over run again.
For instance we'd have Calve, Ward, Yeates, the two attackers all pushing forward and Ertl gets forward too, you then have to look at the problems of covering players positions just to prevent being caught on a counter attack, all these other problems arise from a simple change in formation all these problems and Speed has three training sessions to try and address these and mistakes from the other night, things like this may not happen as quick as you like, with the small squad we have, this is why I plea for patience and support while we have enough time to transition ourselves properly. Speed’s learning his new role some mistakes will happen but people have to be prepared for some teething problems along the way, some may not be bad others maybe but its all part of a change the club needed (IMO).

Lets see if tomorrow brings us a better result. I don’t expect more than a couple of changes in personnel tomorrow but I do look forward to it.

Up The Blades!!

Well it isn't opinion i know that, fiction? well the site shouldn't be fiction so i'd say yeah FACT hope that helps boo

Sorry dave, I wasnt trying to question you or your sources. Some on here dont know the difference so i was getting a qualification for him whoops them.

Difficult to measure is progress and it will mean different things to different people, certainly not promotion in my eyes that would be a foolish place to position the bar.

What I meant was that is pointless measuring the Managers performance before 12 home games and then people can start to make comments.

It’s a funny old game, I’m not bothered about the 4 0 loss as we seem to have played better going on reports and it’s got me back for the game on Saturday.

Should we look out for a sour faced gurner then?

Don't worry boo was making light banter i'd like to think that we can all still get along even if we have heated discussions once in while or a disagreement every now and again.

Opinion, not fact. Your opinion (and many others) is that they are poor.

Opinion again, how do you know he hasn't addressed this behind closed doors?

I don't see your point on an apology if you weren't there.
It's like asking for a refund on something you haven't bought.

Off the top of my head, no. But that's not to say there isn't.
I just find it strange that it has raised by a decade in less than 24 hours.

Nope, Scunthorpe are a poor team. No one would argue against that.

I hope he has addressed it behind closed doors, but that isn't the issue raised.

Your analogy is a poor one and makes little sense. I didn't ask him to apologise to me, I said to the 19k fans who were there.

First did you buy anything nice?? Second we lost 5-0 at home to Oldham in 1988

There you go Robbie worst home result in 22 years.

By the way, I wasn't just digging at one person Ollie, a few have reacted far quicker than you.

No worries, not offended, just thought you'd missed the point of the thread.

It's got to be Ertl and Britton in the middle for me. No place for Monty at home.

I won't be going tomorrow though ..... off looking for a shed at B&Q with our lass. I'm waiting for Speedo to grow some balls (and KB's wife to stop making the pies) before I go back to BDTBL.

Nope, Scunthorpe are a poor team. No one would argue against that.

Opinion. One could assume, that as they're above us, they're not poor in comparison. So if they're not poor in comparison, then surely they're not a poor team.

Your opinion is that they will go down, as it stands, it doesn't look likely.... that can obviously change.

Your analogy is a poor one and makes little sense. I didn't ask him to apologise to me, I said to the 19k fans who were there.

Why would anyone not attending, want the manager to apologise?

There you go Robbie worst home result in 22 years.

Again, opinion.

I thought for a man who only wants to deal in facts, would surely recognise the difference between the 2.

If you mean worst scoreline, as someone else previously pointed out, we lost to Sunderland in around 99 4-0. That would equal that.

There'll always be an excuse for some. It sounded much better than "I'm a glory boy" though....:D

Someone else used to come on here spouting about how he packed in going to games because he was pissed off. Thought he could sum up the mood of united fans and we should take him at his word. He got banned recently for abusing and misusing this forum.
Maybe someone else should take a step back and assess their defenision of discussion, fact ,opinion and theory. A bit of self assessment once in a while is good. (no I'm not a tax man).

I'll use this example from another thread

to tell a few of the more positive posters (and particularly the one's in question) to lay off the abuse and listen to what I am saying!?!

Maybe the best way to guage the mood of Blades fans is to attend Matches and not just assume because of hearing a result when you haven't attended you know how people feel and force that opinion.

Maybe the best way to guage the mood of Blades fans is to attend Matches............

Ah, there you have the crux of the matter. What to do on a Saturday afternoon, Ched or Shed?

Personally, I'm going to watch United, and win, lose or draw I'm going to be posting all manner of stuff about something I haven't seen in the flesh on this fantastic forum. No, not www.s24su.com, but this one. Now, normally I'd do one of those swanky linky doodads, but here's the full t'interweb address.

http://www.shedblog.co.uk/sf-forum/

Yes, that's right, a shed forum. In fact it just might be the shed forum. I'm going to go and watch a football match, and regardless of how my team fare, if we get spanked by Portsmouth like an altar boy in St. Scrotum's Church of the Blessed Away Shirt or if we beat them out of sight I'll be posting about how the staff in B&Q are totally clueless and I'm not going back until they let me have a ride on one of those snazzy cherry-picker thingies they like to tool around on. I haven't been to B&Q for ages actually, nor have I ever built a shed, but those cheeky monkeys on shedblog aren't going to know what's hit them come half six tomorrow night.

Alternatively, if the nice chaps on shedblog want to come and post on here about a match they've not seen then fair play to them. I've never actually met any of them, but if you post on shedblog then you can't be anything but a nice chap, can you? Could you imagine a cad like that baddie Terry-Thomas always played building a shed? Did Dick Dastardly ever build a shed? No, he bloody didn't. He just bullied that nice Muttley, the bounder.

**NOTE**
To all prospective shoppers in B&Q tomorrow afternoon.

If there's any left, please buy some of their charcoal. It's fucking ace, and that's official.:D I cannot vouch for the quality of their sheds, but by this time tomorrow someone here will be able to tell you all you need to know. Or just pop over to shedblog and ask one of the nice chaps there. They're all nice chaps at shedblog. Tell them SV sent you.......

ok, ok Robbie, you win. Scunthorpe being poor is not a fact. Everyone thinks that they are poor and their favourites for the drop (possibly bar Pompey) but this is no signal for them actually being poor.

I want the manager to be a man and accept defeat graciously. And why should I not be pissed off when we lose, just because I didn't go to the game? Do you think Gi Gi Buffon was apologising to the fans only at the game? No of course not, he was apologising to the whole nation. I don't see why it is unresonable to say that Speed should have apologised to ALL Blades fans.

Ok, the part of the result again is opinion. No one has argued against it (apart from you) mind. It's the joint worst result at home in the last 20 years. Sunderland were favourites to go up that year (and did) and Scunny were favourites to go down (at the start of the season).

Someone else used to come on here spouting about how he packed in going to games because he was pissed off. Thought he could sum up the mood of united fans and we should take him at his word. He got banned recently for abusing and misusing this forum.

what nonsesne are you talking Boo. A few days ago you were saying you wanted the old Ollie back. This is the old Ollie. No mention of s*****e, k*****s or c*****s and although my opinion are negative and controversial, they are back up by a constuctive argument.

It wasn't the same without you and I'm happy you prematurley returned!

Olle, I don't see too many posters, especially those who were at the match, getting hung up about an apoogy from the manager. Why is it such a big deal to you?
