He redeemed himself last season because he was mostly dreadful in the Prem.

As has rightly been mentioned, he didn't seem to have the character when the chips were down, he just gave up and spat his dummy out which has probably put some off. Barely anybody from the top division came in for any of our players this time last year which was very telling unless we count Wes putting the cones out at West Ham or Archer being in another pitifully relegated team.

Disappointed to seem him go but it's a decent move to a level where he won't look out of place and if he excels could bridge the gap to a somewhere else if he thinks he can play for Brazil. Unlikely but stranger things have happened.

Also the sort of level of move that Anel could make if we decide to let him go too, another who couldn't hack it right at the top.
 

I absolutely despised him in the Prem season, up there with Dean Hammond, but he completely turned it around and was great last season. Bit of a shame but I can’t say I’m devastated. Alzate would be an ok replacement for the Championship but I just hope Arblaster comes back the same player.

You do know that winning tackles and closing down space also affects games?

Vini was one of the best DM at championship level and before anyone mentions his Premiership season don't forget that he was in a team that was slaughtered most weeks, its almost impossible to shine in that environment.
 
He has the athleticism and power which is outstanding, but the problem is that every Prem player has that as standard. His outstanding attributes in the Champ are completely nullified in the Prem. Sadly not a great deal more to his game. Think Bundesliga is a good move for him though and he’ll be good at that level.

Nevertheless good luck to him. Decent character and gave it his all.

This one stings. Who doesn't love a redemption arc? £13M feels low, but I guess, ultimately, it's how we use that money that counts. Spent wisely, we could get 3 players in and still have Blaster, Tom Davis and Peck for midfield. Who knows, maybe Hamza is available. I'd argue he has a better engine for a Selles team, compared to Vinnie.

He’s alright. Pretty similar to Souza in most aspects. He doesn’t score or assist, decent at winning the ball, progresses it fairly well, misses a third of a season through injury, Championship probs his ceiling

Yeah it is. What have you seen from Davies in his appearances here to suggest he's still a better player than Vini? 😂

Not one person in BL would have selected him infront of him fully fit in any game all season

Easy to say when he's leaving
 
Interesting that our local journalists had no idea about this but when it breaks they r on social media like they knew all along!

Also interesting it's a German club. Pretty much proved there was no PL or Spanisj interest which is why its 'only' 13m.

Big worry is we r left with Peck who seems to want to leave, Davies who will never play more than 20 games a season and Blaster who some think has had a setback and if so won't be ready for the start of the season. We will be seriously short in midfield if he leaves.

OK, well it's what my lad is being taught, so I'm going with that. Surely what matters is that everyone calculates it the same, so it's directly comparable?

Anyhow, I don't see your argument to be honest. To use another example, a gear ratio of 13:46 can also be represented as 0.282, to 3dp.

I think you're overly focused on the number representing a percentage. When you realise that's not what it is, it's an expression of a ratio, I think you'll be OK with it
 
Bit of perspective here, many would have drove him to Germany for 13quid in his prem year. last season he was outstanding for a dozen games but was non existent in the others. Under the circumstances 13 mill is a good deal. Most want him here just we can sing a song about him.
 
Souza out wouldn't be a disaster if we get a decent replacenent. Not the amount we should be getting. Would have expected £20m at least.

Bit of a flat track bully. Should be better than what he is but despite improvements last year, not sure he's a premier league player technically and when we didn't go up, was always going to leave.

If Peck goes as Cappy has said he expects and with Blaster and Davies not at fitness levels we need to start the season, we need two central midfielders. Two centre backs too if Anel goes. Lot of work to be done in 5 weeks.

Do you not think that clanger of a season in the Prem is a serious drag on his valuation right now? When he was at it last year he was a class apart in the Champ and vital for us, I agree.
 
It’s not just the Sousa situation assuming what is being said is accurate. It’s under “market” value and by some distance imo.

What price Gus ? 13m ?

Cooper ? 6m ?

There is literally NO Shef Utd or Sunderland fan that could, hand on heart, value Jobe > Vini.

Maybe a handful.

£13m is a joke !!!
