I absolutely despised him in the Prem season, up there with Dean Hammond, but he completely turned it around and was great last season. Bit of a shame but I can’t say I’m devastated. Alzate would be an ok replacement for the Championship but I just hope Arblaster comes back the same player.

Vini was one of the best DM at championship level and before anyone mentions his Premiership season don't forget that he was in a team that was slaughtered most weeks, its almost impossible to shine in that environment.

Souza missed 1170 minutes through injury and suspension last season. Played 3052 minutes. That's a missing : played ratio of 0.383. That is really not good

He has the athleticism and power which is outstanding, but the problem is that every Prem player has that as standard. His outstanding attributes in the Champ are completely nullified in the Prem. Sadly not a great deal more to his game. Think Bundesliga is a good move for him though and he’ll be good at that level.

Nevertheless good luck to him. Decent character and gave it his all.

Accept that RS doesn’t necessarily use a proper CDM - I don’t know otherwise - maybe he does maybe he doesn’t.

This one stings. Who doesn't love a redemption arc? £13M feels low, but I guess, ultimately, it's how we use that money that counts. Spent wisely, we could get 3 players in and still have Blaster, Tom Davis and Peck for midfield. Who knows, maybe Hamza is available. I'd argue he has a better engine for a Selles team, compared to Vinnie.

He’s alright. Pretty similar to Souza in most aspects. He doesn’t score or assist, decent at winning the ball, progresses it fairly well, misses a third of a season through injury, Championship probs his ceiling

It really isn’t. As an all round player and taking character, intelligence and experience into account I’d pick Davies over him every time. I like Vini & will be sorry to see him go, but the more of that PL season we put behind us the better.

Yeah it is. What have you seen from Davies in his appearances here to suggest he's still a better player than Vini?

Not one person in BL would have selected him infront of him fully fit in any game all season

Interesting that our local journalists had no idea about this but when it breaks they r on social media like they knew all along!

Also interesting it's a German club. Pretty much proved there was no PL or Spanisj interest which is why its 'only' 13m.

Big worry is we r left with Peck who seems to want to leave, Davies who will never play more than 20 games a season and Blaster who some think has had a setback and if so won't be ready for the start of the season. We will be seriously short in midfield if he leaves.

Anyhow, I don't see your argument to be honest. To use another example, a gear ratio of 13:46 can also be represented as 0.282, to 3dp.

I think you're overly focused on the number representing a percentage. When you realise that's not what it is, it's an expression of a ratio, I think you'll be OK with it

Never assisted. Never scored. Had some dominating games last year bit in the final thought he disappeared when it mattered.

Bit of a flat track bully. Should be better than what he is but despite improvements last year, not sure he's a premier league player technically and when we didn't go up, was always going to leave.

If Peck goes as Cappy has said he expects and with Blaster and Davies not at fitness levels we need to start the season, we need two central midfielders. Two centre backs too if Anel goes. Lot of work to be done in 5 weeks.

I think the job he was tasked with in the PL was impossible tbh. His attitude left a bit to be desired I can’t ignore that, but when the shit show that was that particular season was unfolding around him, I reckon Mother Theresa might have thrown in a cuss word or two !!

I think the lad is class at what he does and hiding behind ridiculous goals / assists stats to make points that simply aren’t there is churlish in the extreme.

Wolfsburg, if is indeed Wolfsburg, will be a stepping stone on to a much bigger move down the line. £13m is chicken feed.
