It really isn’t. As an all round player and taking character, intelligence and experience into account I’d pick Davies over him every time. I like Vini & will be sorry to see him go, but the more of that PL season we put behind us the better.

He has some major limitations and ultimately I’m unsure he can overcome them to play well in the Prem. We will miss his mobility and power though.

GLTTL, he turned things around with the fanbase and stuck around. Seems a good character.

Downed tools in Prem season. Good on his day but his day didn't come round very often. Very good at breaking play up. Not too fussed if we've got a replacement lined up. Vini often promised more than he delivered.

The second, less so. He seemed to struggle fitness wise and he's far too slow to release the ball, differs and gives the ball away far too often.

Imo, he's not good enough for the Prem. His physical attributes are standard and nowhere near good enough on the ball. We'd have to play an extra midfielder.

He apparently wanted to go last season and I assume probably wants to go again. £13 million is decent money.

Agree with most of that, we were a better team when he was in it though....., and I think £13m is a bit low, unless there are add-ons...., but if we bring in Alzate for half that, then its not the worst deal?

I watch a lot of Shorts on Facebook, Insta, Tik Tok etc. There's a lot of "Fan Channel" type things that pop up and the one's around Christmas time discussing their Team of the Season so far almost exclusively had Vini in there. These are fans of other clubs recognising him as the best MF in the league in his position.

He dropped off after his injury issues as never looked fully fit IMHO but anyone saying he was poor, overated etc is, quite frankly, talking out of their arse.

He redeemed himself last season because he was mostly dreadful in the Prem.

As has rightly been mentioned, he didn't seem to have the character when the chips were down, he just gave up and spat his dummy out which has probably put some off. Barely anybody from the top division came in for any of our players this time last year which was very telling unless we count Wes putting the cones out at West Ham or Archer being in another pitifully relegated team.

Disappointed to seem him go but it's a decent move to a level where he won't look out of place and if he excels could bridge the gap to a somewhere else if he thinks he can play for Brazil. Unlikely but stranger things have happened.

Also the sort of level of move that Anel could make if we decide to let him go too, another who couldn't hack it right at the top.
