Souza and wilder

Souza booed onto the pitch whilst wilder gets serenaded and standing ovations at old Trafford and Newcastle .But Souza is foreign so must be a twat.Guess what ? Both are underperforming.

Any coincidence how miserable the foreign lads have looked since he come in.But the back room team will be full of his mates and we will sign a load of British lads who love a beer.

Hope he turns it around this summer and I have a lot of faith he will. But the club is operating like a lower league side from the 90s.
Aged terribly for you this.

The attitude of some of last season's squad just was the shit icing on a cake of 'how not to get promoted'.

It always amazes me how a team gets relegated and so many players want to leave as they don’t feel they should drop down a level.

It’s as if the relegation was nothing to do with them!

Anel and Souza may be off, but I’d say they were two of the biggest culprits when it came to throwing the towel in and not being good enough when it came to key games.

There is a player in Souza, no doubt about it. He's strong in the tackle, can protect the back four, and he is strong in the air. All the makings of a wonderful defensive midfielder.
I think he simply doesn't care about Sheffield United. He has little to no connection to the club or the city. Last season, it was evident that he really wasn't trying, and his attitude was horrific, especially towards the end of the season. Add on to this, he doesn't offer anything going forward (other than that Luton away game), and he is not a Premier League quality defensive midfielder. His comments about not feeling out of place at this level are laughable to anyone who has watched a full game of ours this season.

There’s serious doubts about if he’s a good player mate. He threw in some of the worst individual performances I’ve seen. He had 1-2 good games in a whole season so would be more luck due to his other 35+ or so where terrible.

Don't think football works like that- care/ doesn't care - that often gets bandied around a lot, it's pretty irrelevant- whatever level you play at from a kickabout to Prem - you want to win, it's everything. Fraid to say Souza bigging himself up is total bollox he's average at best with a heart of a flea.

Berge although better than Souza was not much better, but I don't think the difference between class act or poor player is attitude, they are not very good.

Wharton who's gone to Palace - zero affinity to Palace but looks great because he is good.

He probably says he felt comfortable because he had the strength and physique to mix it with the athletes in the prem. He also probably never came off the pitch that tired because he barely broke a sweat to win the ball back or drive us forward when we had the ball.

I’ve never disliked a player more for SUFC and it’s a crying shame we can’t afford to simply let him rot and let him train on his own in Norfolk Park.

One thing I am sure of is he’ll never get a chance to play at PL level again and I hope he spends the rest of his life regretting how little effort he put in when he was handed the opportunity.

He just wants to have the limelight and the money whilst doing as little as possible to again it, a total poser, like a lot more in the game nowadays

I'd feel very comfortable in the PL, getting paid thousands of pounds per week, and especially if I barely ran or put in a tackle.

Anel threw in the towel as soon as we went behind, Souza just couldn't be bothered to try. He never gave up, he just never got started. Both were woeful for different reasons, both of which were unacceptable.

I don’t think he’s played well this season. In fact, I think he’s been shocking.

Even with all that still being true, I think there is a good player in there. Strong, good tackler, and a decent ball winner. He has no determination though, and that will be his downfall.

Very deluded I would say. Looked poor in a poor side last season.

I rate him higher than Mr Average and would be confident he’d be an asset next season. With the right attitude of course !

One too many comments out there to suggest his attitude is more than a bit suspect tbh.

I think Vini has every chance of being the best defensive midfielders in the championship and would be a 1st choice in most championship sides.
I know he's vilified on here by many who have a point regarding his performances and yes he had a poor end to the season in a team that had a poor season. I'd like to see him playing in a confident and organised side before throwing him out with the bathwater though. He was flung into a struggling team ,playing at a level he'd not played before and adjusting to life in another country so if he stays let's give the lad a break and give him a fresh start and judge from there .
If he decides to move on or the club decide they can do better with the money so be it.

Putting Berge in the same camp as Souza is laughable. One finished the season by being booed onto the pitch by his own fans, the other won player of the year. Admittedly both got relegated, but there's only one who may have premier league suitors this summer

Seems strange that the espanyol fans then thought exactly same as us, I know we're I'd like to see him play.... as far away from the lane as possible, idle bastard!!

Yep I get that , he's a bit if an enigma. Most see something in him but he's inconsistent, starts a season ok and trails off.
Just think he's worth a gamble possibly under a new coach.

I think the worrying thing is him thinking he’s done well, points to a complete lack of footballing intelligence and I can’t believe he will have a had good feedback from the coaching staff.

There is a level of ability there and he could be “comfortable” at championship level but it seems like he doesn’t have the capacity to learn and listen to instruction.

Maybe it’s a cultural thing. We usually expect players who’ve had a bad season to be a bit more humble, “not been at my best this season” etc rather than displaying supreme confidence with very little to back it up.

I've got the pith hat on waiting for the abuse, but I reckon Berge, Souza, and Hamer would have been a decent midfield three I would have liked to have seen for us last season.

Aged Great Pal

Vini Is Our Most Important Player

The Flair he has and The Grit

Hard disagree.

His ego is way too big, he's always looking to make a "look at me" big tackle for a cheer, but then multiple times gets dragged out of position by opposition. Every single game he ends up wrong side of the ball because he gets sucked in looking for a duel., and has to save himself by taking a booking. He's incapable of staying in shape and showing discipline.

He needs to sit in position, do the boring unspectacular work and be a cog in the machine. Unfortunately his personality and ego mean he needs to feel important and the star of the show, so he goes wandering around looking to be involved where he shouldn't.

He's still miles off redemption in my view
