Souza

Seemed tired / injured tonight, but persevered and showed great battling spirit.

He's clearly the main man in our dressing room and a real leader.
He knows how to connect with the fans and everyone around him.

He gave Ryan One his moment at Bristol, pushing him forward towards the away end to take the plaudits.. and I'm pretty sure he led the group in throwing Tom Davies into the air in front of the Kop.

Special moments and it's great to have leaders like Vini around the squad. He seems great for club morale.

Souza is heroic this season but was noticeably quiet at WBA and last night. I wondered what was amiss.
Lo & behold , CW then says he'd felt his hammy v Mackems - shows how crucial he is to the team that CW is prepared to "manage" his condition until he finally asks to go off.
There must be a great amount of trust in him as a senior player to know when enough is enough.

And congratulations to our midfield coping without Blaster and with a below par Souza.

I hope that he'll now be rested out of the Plymouth game to aid his recovery.
Especially if Davies is fit enough to start , even if he can't last 90 minutes.
I usually refrain from categorising the opposition as "weaker" or "stronger" but Plymouth at home does seem an ideal chance to rest a player who will be important to our ultimate success.

Souza is probably one of our most influential and irreplaceable players , so the question of cover for him needs addressing in January.

think souza and burrows will be rested against plymouth davies and mcallum great options to come in also think rak-saki needs resting he hasnt pulled any trees up last few games brooks should be given another chance
It’s a bit arrogant but I think we have enough to get through the next two. It’s a tough run of fixtures over Christmas and we could do with coming out of the next two with a fully fit squad & 6 pts.

Vital period.

He was holding his hammy from about 30 mins v sunderland and somehow continued to play the rest of the game including a mad lung busting full length of the pitch run up the wing at about 85 mins. He's done well to manage his way through the last two games without major injury

I don't think it's wven a "weaker" side argument needed - we have a 4pt cushion. Isn't perfect, can go easily but also means for one game we can rest a few more pivotal players

Please give Souza a rest tomorrow and play Davies.
We need Vini for the big games over Christmas
This is Davies who said 2 or 3 weeks ago that he’s not close to starting games and is happy to come on at the end to build fitness until he’s feeling fitter.

Davies could be a real asset towards the end of games for the next few months if we treat him well, to expect 60 mins from him is unrealistic in my opinion.

Ok then , drop Hamer deeper and play Brooks or McCallum on the L

Any update on why he went off and whether he can play tomorrow?
Haven't heard anything yet, but watching on tv he made this "slashing" motion across his thigh/hamsting area and seemed to be saying the words "done" & "out". Hopefully just a precaution taking him off at HT.

Wilder quite cagey about Souza and Hamer in the injury update video
