JLT is a reasonably solid CB, but his limited technical ability always worries me. Even more so these days when we're more intent on playing out from the back.

Not much to choose between top 4 or 5. We've proved we can handle it with injuries and suspensions but if we accumulate any more results will falter. Anyway 2 more points and we won't go down hahaha .

There is also an argument for Anel, of course Robbo has been fantastic and doesn’t deserved to be dropped but Burnley have quick players and are very dangerous on the counter attack and we could really need Anel’s pace for this game.

I think Anel is a necessity for Sunderland and WBA games as they've pace up top. I'd keep him on the bench Thursday unless he absolutely 100% fit.

Though I've said we need both back in the team in an earlier reply, but 2 home games in quick succession means we might not see 90 minutes out of Souza and probably the same for Anel.

We'll probably see some more rotation in both games (McCallum for Burrows and Peck/Davies for Souza etc), might even see a bit more of Shackleton (wasn't he ill against Cardiff?) in either CM or RB.

These next four games are when we are going to have to stretch our squad rotation as far as it will go but at least we can get 4 very tough games out of the way.

All 4 players should be in the starting line-up or on the bench. I have every confidence (as I am sure Wilder does) that all the squad will be up to the challenge on Thursday and the following three games. If we need to change things around during the game so be it.

The time for rest starts at the full time whistle at Watford (04/01/25) until we meet Norwich at home on 18/01/25.

I’d be starting Vini & Anel, but replacing them with Peck & Robbo around 60-65 minutes. I’m not sure I’d be wanting them coming back to do a full 90 in a game as big as this.

His incompetence on the ball almost cost us 2 points against Cardiff. Better teams would have punished us and have before. He’s also equally as prone to a loss of head like Anel v Cov.

Peck absolutely needs a rest anyway, so if Souza is ok to start that one's a no brainer.

It's a bit more difficult for me with JLT. Yes I think Anel is the slightly better defender alongside Souttar, but if JLT is fit he has to play. The reason being that it sends out the wrong message if Anel walks straight back in, following his petulance against Coventry, which could have cost us dearly. If JLT hadn't been as effective as he has been, I would have voted for Anel to return.

Anel will have had the Gypsy's Warning from CW about his stupidity at Coventry.
I think he starts and then gets replaced by JLT if tiring or rusty in 2nd half.

Same with Souza , Peck on bench ready to replace whichever of Souza or Davies tires first
