Souttar

There was a moment in the second half when he was passed the ball under a little bit of pressure, dropped a shoulder and allowed it to run and completely did the attacker leaving himself with time and space. Not something you'd expect him to be capable of given his profile/reputation but it showed the man's ability. Would not he adverse to him becoming a loan to buy could be a blades legend

He made not be 100% perfect but he is our best CB by miles and nearly opened his scoring today.
Just needs a partner to match.

Yep, looked excellent today and with his age/experience he should be have consistency. I like Anel and if money were no object I’d keep him. But if we can get the fees quoted then I’d let him go and bring in the others we need (including a solid Champ right Center back to cover for Souttar or Gilchrist as 3rd choice).

Trusty, on the other hand, is not filling me with confidence. I hate it when we make scapegoats and I don’t think trusty should become one, because he seems like a good bloke who gives his all and is a tidy footballer. But I just don’t see that toughness, awareness and composure we’ll need. Hope I’m wrong and when he gets his confidence back he’ll grow into it - I don’t mind giving him a few games to play himself into form if Wilder wants to.

That second half when he basically took 3 of them out.

He’s really coming into his own. I hope the transfer dealings don’t put an end to his growth.

Once he gets a bit of final ball selection right and gets a goal, you can see his confidence rocketing.

It was his excellent play that lead to the goal.
Brooks has been the most pleasant surprise from the squad this early season. I have to say I didn’t expect it. I knew he had a good touch and sound technique but didn’t know he could go past players like that. He looks a yard quicker and is becoming a unit as well. If you were a neutral today you’d say he was out stand-out.

Final ball / shot selection takes a half second too long but as you say, will come with confidence. TBF he put one on a plate for Moore vs Preston and then did the same for O’Hare today, when O’Hare got it it caught in his feet. Could have 3/4 assists already.

Him and JRS battling it out should be fun.

Brookes has the makings of a star player loads of talent ! Once he gets his decision making right we will have a reit player. No doubt he's matured on last season.
Reminds me of Woody when he was a kid(

different style just needed a bit of time and experience and what a player he became ) Just needs experience ! Talk of him playing for Jamaica! What about playing for England.

apart from just getting caught out by norwich's goal souttar was fantastic yesterday its definetly him plus another for watford im not a big trusty fan but thought he did alright yesterday and looked as though there could be a good partnership with souttar as for brooks hes getting better every game in the saka role its his shirt to lose

FYI it's 'Brooks' not 'Brookes'

The new Billy Sharpe?
Easy solution, just call him Brooksy, avoids the chance of an error. Always used to refer to Sharpy as Billy and that Senegalese bloke as Illy. Lucky we’ve got a Trusty. He works well with a Coops, Gilly, Soutts, Harry, Olly and that Big Brazilian Get.

It’s ‘Git’.

Let me just put this right here, Trusty isn’t , never has been & never will be the ANSWER.
Same with Slimane.

Those two are not up to the standard of the rest of the team, my heart sank when he brought slimane on.. complete waste of a shirt.

Souttar wasn't at fault for NC goal. Watched it back from behind goal and it gets fired past him as he tries to get a foot to the ball.
Trusty gets caught flat footed as Sarge starts his run and gets left for deaf.
He's beckoning frantically to Cooper to come out to the ball.
A defender who cannot stay goalside or track runners is a liability and unfortunately AT is not aware enough at crucial times in games.

souttar motm today with gilchrist running him close where have all the gilchrist critics after last week gone tonight slimane can go for me not up to the physicality of the english game also thought o'hare was poor today i would have had him off sooner
Slimane's playing in a division to high for him.

Near enough (Brisbane Roar played some games on that ground :) )
Was it at Robina Stadium? I remember going to see Gold Coast Utd v Melbourne Vics there before Clive Palmer got their A-league licence revoked. A few years ago now.
I wonder if Palmer would pass the EFL checks to own a UK club? He has the money but is definitely not a fit & proper owner 🙄

Yes

I haven't felt this confident in a CB since JOC was at his absolute peak, and I realise that is a big comparison.

The bloke is an absolute beast. But he is also calm, skilful and pacey enough at tracking back when he needs to be....from what I have seen so far anyway.

Watching him break up fights between players 6 inches shorter than him is also comical.

I was about 50 miles out when I said it was in Brisbane and corrected by Cappy but yes it was. Theyve just got a mere 11 hour flight to Jakarta for their game on Tuesday (1pm uk time kick off) before a 16 hour flight back to the UK. I suspect he won't be flying economy.

I've liked what I've seen, but JOC was different gravy.
One of the very best players I've seen in my time supporting the club.
