Souttar

I get the feeling that anel and Souttar could become one of the top centre back partnerships in this league this season, my only concern is we really only have Gilchrist and robbo as back up in case of injuries ( something to address in January)
If the rumours that Davies is nearly back to full fitness covers off midfield with Vini blaster and peck
Need a more mobile centre forward though

I've liked what I've seen, but JOC was different gravy.
One of the very best players I've seen in my time supporting the club.
Couldn't agree more Captain, JOC was spectacular, he had everything you could wish for in a defender, was one of the very best players ever to don a Blades' shirt.

In the top five that I've ever seen in the red and white. Behind Brian Deane, possibly behind Iliman Ndiaye, alongside Alan Kelly and King Keith.

They next play in Indonesia on Tuesday.
That's a ridiculous amount of travelling, I can't see him being in good shape for Fridays game

I came back from the Barnsley game with a banging migraine so I can sympathise.

Not a shred of doubt that JoC was about to emulate Jagielka , Walker & Maguire when he suffered his cruel twist of fate.
An inspirational player.
Nor any doubt that losing him ruined our chances of survival in 20/21 , especially when , instead of replacing him , we spent an inordinate sum on Brewster , openly stating that he was "one for the future" , knowing that he was miles off contributing in the PL.
What on earth were we thinking ?

Poor Harry. Socceroos not in a good space right now. The A league quality is shit and most of players are based overseas so maybe long travel time has a big impact.

Next international break will see Harry fly back to Australia then a trip to China. And finally back to UK (via business class you'd fucking hope!) to play for us 😕

JOC might just about make my top 10, but in addition to the above, please think about recent bias and consider:
Brownie
Jags
Kyle Walker
Harry Maguire
Glen Cockeril
Colin Morris
All of whom played with mainly shit players around them.

Obviously, TC, Woody, Eddie C and our Welsh Wolfman have to come into it too for those around in the first half of the 70s.

....oh, and to go agaont my 'recent bias' argument, I'd also chuck Billy and Didzy in there.

Souttar is one hell of a big unit, like Edie Colquhoun with more beef on
Hes put back what we have missed since losing OConnell

The solidity we showed a scarse lack of last season appears to be on show now once again
Anel looks a lot more assured with this back line, anel looks better with better players alongside,

Agree 100%

Decent chance of keeping him if we get promoted I reckon
Reckon he’ll be happy to be playing regularly, and will enjoy the camaraderie CW creates

If fuckin tekova has happened by Jan, cheeky £4m bid, and Gerrim in

Frees up loan spot, then get EPL loans for a BBD gem, plus defender & midfielder

Proper Blades player and benefits AA having an enforcer at the side of him

Him and Anel are an excellent duo, just need the fullbacks and midfield tightening up to stop the crosses coming in to cause trouble,Ala Hull on Friday and a couple of previous matches.

Given that Leicester wanted to recoup the £7m they paid for Cannon I can't see them letting us have £15m Souttar for 4.

Not worth £15m now mate, only played 15 games for Leicester last yr, deemed not good enough for the Prem, transfermket have him at £8m

Cheeky opening bid of £4m, rising to £6m plus promotion bonus and if they need money to meet PSR hopefully we can get a deal

Finical straight swap for Bogle would be a good bit of business

Already looks composed and assured.

Add pace and he’s a £75m player at a top 6 club.

Impressed 👍.

UTB
Unfortunately pace isn't an add-on. I don't think Souttar is the slowest player & his positioning helps cover up his lack of pace. I really like him & he will start banging in goals from set-pieces once he gets comfortable. I feel he could work on his passing but overall he is top drawer !!
