So where do we go from here?

So where does that leave us if we do not get to the Championship, which is looking extremely doubtful?

Troubling times indeed.

You're aware that but for a 97th minute goal we'd been joint 4th and 4 points off automatic right? As it goes, we're still only 6 points away with 36 games left after 2 defeats in 9 games. I don't know how you can say it's extremely doubtful.

You may very well have been to more games during your 40 years, which makes you about same as me.

Problem is you ARE a new member - do you not think it is extremely suspicious with all the crap surrounding CE that there are one or two a tad interested in motives.

Perhaps you may want to earn some respect - yes I know it's the "R" word - before going on the offensive.

Convince the forum - your OP verges on a troll post. Just an honest opinion.

No my post is a genuine concern for the club, our club....I would not bother writing it if it were not a concern to me.

STOP BEING POSITIVE. IT IS NOT ALLOWED

Given the way things are going and we are playing I would say it is extremely doubtful....we are not good enough, I would only be fooling myself If I though better times were to come!

But we did concede that 98th minute goal and we are in 10th. We've had 4 defeats in 11. Cutting out the first two games of the season and changing facts does your argument no favours SdP - there are enough signs there that we're close to form but we can't leave it too late.

My issue is that we're narrowly losing games (except the Swindon game; the other three have been Bristol C 1-2, Coventry 0-1 and Chesterfield 2-3) but at the same time, we're not winning games by that big a margin (Peterborough 2-1, Crawley 1-0, Rochdale 1-0, Colchester 3-2 and Gillingham 2-1). In addition, in two of those wins we had to come from behind - we've yet to build a two goal lead in a game.

Can't agree with that, I think the upheaval of the close season has resulted in an extended settling in period. There have been enough signs of life in the last couple of home games for me to think that we are good enough...but we have to sort out the defence.

Fulwood Blade has already provided a good reply (thank you) but I've taken your feedback on board and read your post again. Cutting out the "filler", I read: -

"so called" investment; sell everything that is not nailed down; not procure any signings that are not free or loans; Jim Phipps is just a spin doctor from the club; the big deal...was an attempt to draw some attention to the club, possibly with a view to selling it; I think that is the real incentive for the link up with the Prince is to look at selling the club on in the near future, maybe to a non UK bidder; the club is desperate for cash; where does that leave us if we do not get to the Championship, which is looking extremely doubtful; the next few years may be very troubling indeed, with the club resources / revenues ever decreasing and no buyer on the horizon for McCabe to exit"

Or to put it another way, I still love my childhood sweetheart, you seem to hate her....

ha ha ....that is a good phrase! maybe there is some truth in that I get bitter at the way Sheffield United treats us fans....if a childhood sweetheart was to treat me the way the blades have done over the years and let me down time and time again, I would have kicked her into touch years a go.

I notice you did not mention the last away games!!!!

Massive blade alert!!

Whether you have been to 1 game or 1m doesn't make your point more valid than anyone else's.

You may or may not have a good point but keep the bigger blade bollocks out of it.
I think you need to read my post then...what has registering only 4 days got to do with it??

.

I haven't changed any facts and we could argue the stats all day. Some will say we've only had one win in 4. I think that looking at 9 sequential games and the fact we've won 5 and lost 2 is perfectly reasonable. We obviously got going slowly and lost the first 2, but there are 105 points left to play for. If you want to talk about what we've left out, we've only lost one more game than Peterborough and they're in 2nd.

We were all over Gillingham and it was a siege upon the goal of Leyton Orient. I really don't see any need to panic halfway through October.

Where did I mention you registering 4 days ago? Reading is hard!

Cut out the bigger blade bollocks and your posts will gain more credence. That is all.
It is in the initial post you responded to, did you not read the post!!!!

I have no idea what your saying, it seems to be English but makes no sense.

Being registered for 4 days was said by someone else? What does that have to do with me or my original response?
Anyway. I'll leave you to it. Great post by the way I agree with every word you said.

Am I doing it right?

Just read your post again due to the Ched postings being relocated in its own file. I am also new to this post your comments game and have been following the Blades for over 40 years . Although we all have a moan we are all blades for life . Only 2no things are for ever . These being the club you support and the kids you have . We moan because we love the club and want them to be successful. Even Brian the Blade is not as negative on the wireless.

Come on liven up a little . If not you could be a

Secret Agent Wednesday fan

Dave Richards

Terry Curran

That Pearson bloke who commentates the Wednesday matches on the wireless for Radio Sheffield

Trying to provoke replies ( like i have just done )

With the Ched crap flying around lets get behind the Blades for a win tomorrow , and a successful season.

Forza Sampdoria good name .

Leave it out......this cannot be the case every time can it? You would have to be some mug to believe that load of cobblers. The club has set its stall out in this respect which is quite clear.

My post is actually in respect to the premise that the tie up with the Prince may be more of a relationship of convenience for which we may not be aware of the of the greater significance, something that was called to asset stripping in the 80's , but is now deemed to be called investment, where key assets are taken first of all and the core business activity is then sold on....if indeed the core business is an attractive proposition, which we would need to reach at least the championship to realize. If we do not then I see us being in limbo for quite some time.

Basically this is still just guesswork and supposition on your part isn't it?

You expect Jim to reveal all in a series of emails and on Twitter or Facebook to all and sundry?

I'm generally happy with the current set-up and all we need is for the team to properly gel and stop getting these niggling injuries and temporary drops in form from some players that help to upset our rhythm and maybe we can improve on our dreadful placing in the table of, what is it, oh yes, 10th, a point behind the play-off places and 6 behind auto promotion.

Things really are going from bad to worse aren't they?

I think you're being too gloomy actually although I do understand your concerns. The current set-up, whatever its perceived failings, is the best we've had for a while, and is possibly the best that a third division club could hope for.

Sorry meant be reply to bladesmadluke reply..

I think we tried to keep him, even at 2-2.5 millions...from what I've been told Harry wanted off before last season and was convinced to stay one more year...which paid off for the club financially.

The money is supposedly Clough's.
1million now, 1 million next year when it comes through.

That's my take on it anyhow...

I believe you are spot on Esablade

BornOnShoreham offers a necessary and considered riposte to the puzzling message(s) of forza sampdoria.

Of course FS is entitled to offer up whatever critique he feels is needed. The thing that I think has concerned several posters is that in the space of a few days it's seemed as if a planned assault was being carried out. Not necessarily un-Blades like I should add, but it's bound to throw a shadow of doubt onto FS's motives. The denial of being a grunt wasn't unexpected. After all, even if FS is a grunt, would he blow his guise after carefully constructing said persona?

FS is entitled to his view, no matter how gloomy he paints a picture. I have my concerns, but as yet they haven't eroded whatever positive take I have on the club and it's intentions. All I'd advise FS is to slow down, just a little. If the intention was to be a Trojan Horse, or should that be a Trojan Pig, then we'll catch you out, that's a promise. No amount of screaming how many games you've seen, how long you've supported United etc etc to prove just how credible a Blade you are will mask your true allegiances. So ease your way into this fella. If you're who you say you are, the content of your posts will eventually convince this forum, or not, as the case may be. UTB

Unless your Bristol City with their new stands under construction, quality signings, 1st place in the table and billionaire owner.

Phipps and Brannigan are far from the best we can hope for in this division.

There are always exceptions to prove every rule :P

I don't see many other 3rd or even some 2nd division clubs with anything like our set up.

Maybe it's because of what we have had to endure in the past that makes me grateful for what we have now but I do stand by what I said.

I aim to tell it like it is mate.........up the blades.

But i hope for so much more than being marooned in the 3rd tier, i will not accept that no way, why should any of us. that my friend is down to poor management, nothing can disguise that. and the motives of that dick McCabe, who has sold us down the river time and time again.

up the Blades.

You are correct, nothing can be substantiated, but the pattern of what is happening is the concern for me, it has all the hallmarks of past failures and it is would not be the first time that git McCabe has lied to us would it??

Ah, a bit of an absolutist. Your way or the highway uh?

What you're doing is telling it as you see it, not as it is. There are several posters on here who adopt the same, take no prisoners, approach. You either agree or your view doesn't count. What this doesn't contribute to is a balanced view. Well go for it FS, I doubt any other opinion would be of interest to you. Unless, of course, you manage to hook up with one of the other diehards who can't wait to let the forum know that theirs is the only opinion that carries any true value.
