Slow nervous starts

I think that you can argue for the reasons behind our slow, nervous starts in the first 4 games;
1. First game back in Premier League
2. First home game, worried about Zaha
3. First game against a top side..best of the rest. Vardy and Maddison
4. First game against a top 6 side, though I think they’ll struggle to actually finish there this year.
So apart from the top 2, Liverpool and Man City, we have no reason to be nervous or scared of anyone in this league. Not saying we won’t get a couple of thrashings but full steam ahead and on the front foot from the whistle

Your right it is a nervous thing they look as though the players are starting games giving to much respect. And to an outsiders looking in they are trying to feel there way into games when there's no reason to. That's a belief thing witch will disappear soon there's nothing to fear in the big bad premier league for any of them yesterday's result will go a long way to stop it happening and they will start to play there normal game from the off

Read it on Twitter yesterday - 'playing the occasion, not the match'.

Once we realise the opponents are human and judging by the evidence thus far only maybe 25% of those players are anything other than bang average, we play as we have for the last 3 years and control the games.

Bodes so well for the rest of the season IMO.

Same thing happened with our first game in the Championship.

We really sat off Brentford and admired their neat passing.

From memory Billy scored. Jamal made a couple of decent saves. And we ended up stealing a 1-0 win.

I half remember Wilder making the same comment he's just made after yesterday's game, "I sometimes think I believe in my players more than they believe in themselves."

If the players do start to believe and become more decisive and less nervous, then we could have a very good season.
