Sky using Chris Wilder as a Pundit

Needs to make money some how. Will have got X months wages in his severance package so will be needing some type of work

Was just thinking last night that he will be a shoe in as a championship pundit, and probably leapt at the chance. I wouldn't blame him if he didn't have any rush to get back into management, and with 4m to tide him over, this is a steady gig in the meantime.

Rumours are that wilder had the West Brom job in the bag until someone from united put a spanner in the works

I'm amazed that for the sake of around 20 odd games he seems to be washed up in terms of management

It’s a weird one regards Wilder….he’s been brilliant for 4 years but might need to start again to rebuild his reputation.

If you look at Wilders managerial background and experience, he’s a real novice at top class (PL and Champ level) management.
He’s hardly any experience coaching ego’s, players on big salaries, even foreign players.
He’s always managed at really small clubs with Sheff Utd (his home town) being by far and away the biggest club he’s managed.

Here’s a summary of his management experience, he’s been reasonably successful everywhere he’s been.
10 years non league
6 years league 2
1 year league 1
2 years Championship,
1.5 years Premier League

So looking at that…one would be forgiven for thinking that Wilder could be a 1 hit wonder at upper level management….and his talents belong to the lower leagues.

I‘ve always said that Wilder would struggle to attract any PL club, so there was no risk of us losing him.
Think plenty of Championship clubs would be interested but I would imagine Chris thinks he can expect a big salary
where as I still think most Champiomship clubs see him as a risky appointment, so wont pay him big money…so he’s currently in a limbo.

He’ll be in high demand at league 1 level and will easily get a job , but again they won’t be able to pay him a big salary.
If he’s not careful the best jobs he could realistically acquire is at Derby or Sunderland….but this would show how low his stock has fallen.

United did not want wilder at West Brom or any other so called rival. I know this is true. But no point in getting into a back and forth about it. They got there wish ! United have moved on . Wilder though is stuck in the wilderness at the minute

Wilder will be in demand as a Championship pundit and you'd think he'll make a concerted effort to be uncontroversial and diplomatic in an attempt to rebuild his stock and build some bridges.

His chances of getting the WBA job were affected by his media management towards the ends of his time with us, to what extent depends on what you believe.

I've predicted that, although very different characters, Wilder's path will follow Adkins'. Double promotion to the PL, followed by an anti-climactic spell in the Championship, before getting a big job back in L1, ie Ipswich or Sunderland. It's very hard to see that his career hasn't peaked.

Anyway good luck to him, I hope he enjoys the punditry and having a bit of a break. It's obvious he wasn't right and he deserves a crack at the Championship when the right thing comes along.

Bring bring bring bring

WBA: Hello West Bromich Albion fc how may we help you

SU: Hello rival club, we hear you're about to appoint our ex manager

WBA: Yeah rival club. Hes due to sign this afternoon.

SU: Wouldn't do that if I was you. He's a reight trouble causer. Proper problem child and all that.

WBA: Ok thanks rival club for letting us know. We won't appoint him now.

Eddie Howe hasn’t got a new job yet either. I reckon him and Wilder will both be back in work by the end of the year.

Look I love sufc, that’s who I will be chanting for tomorrow night at the match. Wilder is gone. So I just carry on supporting my team and the new manager. Apparently though , and of course I wasn’t at the bloody meeting, I’m not an insider ! But I’m afraid I do believe. It because I believe the person I got the info from. And how legit he is. Saying that, it’s from wilders side of the story . Not uniteds or West Brom’s so I carnt need 100 percent

I’m sure wilder will be back in management before too long also. Someone will have him

Rumours are that wilder had the West Brom job in the bag until someone from united put a spanner in the works

the spanner being that West Brom would have to have paid part of his compensation is the done thing in football. wilder is still getting more money now than he would have done as West Brom manager and wasn’t giving anything up

wilder just needs to lower his expectations as nobody is coming in fir him who needs saving at the bottom of the prem

Eddie Howe did the punditry circuit for a year and it doesn't seem to be going to well for him either at the moment. Being an out of work English former Prem manager isn't all it's cracked up to be.
