Tom Cannon is giving me the impression he could be a similar player to Ched. Not particularly strong/quick but I think he can finish. My only problem with it is we have spent so much money on him, and for the amount we’ve paid I’d like someone to be more effective! It was his debut for us on a Friday night on sky, fair enough if he’s not getting service but cmon, be aggressive/get a yellow, give the crowd anything to cling to. Everton and Leicester have both struggled for goals in the prem and have both had him available but have still got rid!

Over the years I think we have had great success from signing players from the leagues below. I just had a gander at league 1 top scorers and top is Louie Barry, who I think is similar to Cannon and would also cost a lot.
2nd top scorer is a Wycombe youth grad,

Richard Kone. Had a quick look at his highlights and he is a Toney-esque type player. Then looked online and it looks like Luton are about to sign him, for what should be 4million tops. He would’ve been a much better signing for us. I think deep down we all know Cannon is just going to be baggage for us, I’m sorry if it’s too early to say that. But this lad looks a star at Wycombe.

Cannon had 1 training session with a new team where he doesn't know any of his teammates (as far as I can tell none of them have played with him before) before last night's game.

Might have been a more sensible thing to start Campbell ahead of Cannon but hindsight is always beautiful.

I thought last night that O'Hare and Brewster knew exactly where Campbell wanted the ball and when he was going to make the runs, but they didn't know where Cannon wanted the ball or what space he would run into.

Cannon needs time to gel with this squad, I agree he does have to do it quickly but we can get it out of him, same with BBD and Choudhury (when he signs).

I think you explained why he should have been on the bench ! Wilder got this one wrong.Dont think you need hindsight to realise he should have been on the bench .
