Yes quite right - embarrassing plug for hoof, we don't want those premiership days back.

The football played was far too direct, should have played a 5-4-1 that night, too many forward passes, would have been much better stroking the ball around sideways and backwards,a 6-0 win against Tottenham is just unacceptable!Sod hammering Spurs in the Premiership. Just join with Pinchy and enjoy the new ethos.

Yes i accept that and i can remember all the Blades fans complaining on the way out after the game that the performance was unacceptable, not enough passes etc and they wanted to see 'proper football' being played!Yes yes alright, we might have won 6-0 but it was a very hollow victory because the ethos was all wrong.
Aye, fancy not having stuck with Harry for this past two decades.
Is it only me that sees the irony in people harking back to a game 20 years ago in order to prove some point against a poster who's main gripe is that we constantly live in the past?

The first goal was a 'mistake'. Franz Carr received the ball back from a short corner but forgot the script. Instead of crossing it, as they had practised in training, he ran towards the goal, dribbled past the near static defenders, and stuck it in the net.

Can't remember when we last had "one of those" results, I don't mean hammering someone, but just something really memorable.
I remembered this as him curling it in from a ridiculous angle on the touch line (to be fair, I was still fairly young and stood at the back of the Kop), until I watched it again on video recently and it wasn't the wonder goal I recalled as a youngster
The other things I remember about the night are the big flag being used a little more than normal and the red nose up on the old John Street.
Posted this on Twitter on Sunday, barring one person who tried to "correct" me by incorrectly stating it was at White Hart Lane, everyone had the good memories

As opposed to the irony that the more we strive to play this mythical 'proper' football, the lower down the league we go.

Im guessing Its either warnock or mccabe but im not sure whyIf the style of football was the issue then we wouldn't be at the bottom of the third division. We would change it and win all our games. Look a little deeper and the answer smacks you in the chops.
