as for today, he played quite well, still far to many passes astray though, and a couple of ''uhoh'' moments. but yet again we have failed to score, and this is in no part due to the fact that there is no creativity in the middle, both montgomery and quinn are just not good enough to take us forwards

I seem to recall most people saying he had a bad game on Tuesday, but were of the opinion that you were harshly picking him out.

In my opinion, he was quite positive in terms of forcing attacking play. Everytime he had the opportunity he drove forward.

I've been critical of Howard recently, but he was better today. He got more involved and put more effort in.

Would like to have seen him on in the second half at some stage, was good to see him having a laugh during the banter with the Preston lot.

I still don't see how people expressing a different opinion to yours means they are a clique though.

Everyone is welcome to air their views and opinions providing they are put across in the right way. When wishing for others to hear your opinions however, you should be willing to listen to theirs.

We aren't an exclusive club, we don't like a "closed house", we are always happy and actively encourage new members/people we don't know to come and discuss the Blades/have a laugh/come and have a pint before the match etc.

It's deeper than that. Some see themselves as 'supporters' and that is what they do, support. Not blindly, not 'happy clappy' but generally in ways that they see as positive because they have the Blades deep within and want the best possible for the club. Others should have a whole new genre invented for them; football 'complainers', look for the worst, imagine the worst, latched onto the worst and see all things in a negative light. They almost give you the impression that they have allegiance to SUFC because it gives plenty of opportunities to moan, they would never be happy at Old Trafford, nowt to complain about (mind you they might find it!). This forum is the most balanced and intelligent place for debate about SUFC I've found, and as good as any about football in general. No cliques, bodies of opinion certainly, but people move around in these and agree and oppose each other depending on the subject, which to me is the opposite of cliques! Healthy as chuff, if you ask me!

I thought opinions were supposed to be based on some sort of assessment. "Yes he did - no he didn't", hardly gets us far. While Radio Sheffield was waiting for Monty to make mistakes, and he did, most of the give-aways were by other players and Naughton was certainly as guilty as Monty, but they were not the worst. Overall, all comentaries (media reports) seem to acknowledge we did a lot better at playing the ball on the ground and that is an important first step. You cannot judge the midfield unless you bring them into the game.

just because people defend a player doesn’t mean there in a clique.

some people have favourite player and tend to be a little biased to some but I’m sure every one on this forum is sensible enough to admit there short comings when they have a bad game.

iv been in a few disputes over webber cotts and sharp in the past and although I don’t agree with what other people say doesn’t mean we don’t agree on another player hence there’s no clique

Maybe if people had a more balanced arguments and choose to see the players good points or acknowledge when they have played well other users would find there argument more diplomatic than saying HE'S CRAP with little explanation.

I bet anyone who came on and continually blamed one player repeatedly would find they felt victimised but I think that’s because most people on this forum think they are fair people and rather than attacking the person feel there defending the player

I don't really want to say that if you don't like it here there are plenty of other places for you to discuss the Blades, but that in essence is the truth.

We set this forum up because we wanted somewhere that was a little different to all the other message boards. We wanted somewhere where personal abuse was not the norm but reasoned debate between reasonable people was. For the most part, this is the case.

Not everyone agrees, but most people can disagree sensibly. All sides put forward a reasoned and objective argument and don't get huffy when people disagree. They simply debate until they find some middle ground, or happily agree to disagree and everyone moves on.

Occasionally, we get some abrasive personalities on here. Now they either go one of two ways.

Either they throw a strop because they aren't mature enough to have people questioning their opinion... they don't wish to other people's opinions, they just want to have their say and have their egos flattered by agreement from others. In which case, they are no loss to our community.

Or, they calm down and get used to the way we do things around here and become valued members of our forum.

As ever, we will always listen to any concerns you have. PM either myself or Foxy or raise any issues in the Comments, Suggestions and Problems forum.
