Should we sack Selles? (Poll)

(Poll taken on 12th September 2025)

Was previously in the “let’s hang on and see where he takes us” camp. Well, we’ve seen where, and it’s not very nice.
Agreed, I was in that camp however not even done and he seems to have lost the dressing room. Granted some of the Ipswich goals have been quality finishes however we haven’t tested their keeper at all

He just had 2 weeks to really see what was the issue was and sort it, not that it should havE taken a great deal of analysing, so he keeps the same formation and drops the only 2 players that have scored… genius… he obviously wants the sack.

If he’s not gone tomorrow - then the owners need to have pressure put in them, what am an absolute shot show they have been this far.

I hope all those that wanted rid of Wilder are happy now. I said at the time when he was dismissed that people needed to be careful what they wished for. Well this it. A complete shitshow. This manager is clueless.
How was replacing a manager with a proven track record at this level, that had won 90 points the previous season, with a manager with no track record, no promotions, no achievements, ever going to end well? A complete shambles from the moment he was appointed.
Would I take Wilder back in a heartbeat, absolutely, however I'd take anyone at the moment that could just get the team doing the basics right.
Horrific, truly horrific.

I wished for better quality football, for us to do to teams what Ipswich have just done to us. As it happens Wilder wasn’t the man for that in the end.

I certainly didn’t wish for our next manager to be a Hull City reject though.

Get over it pal, Wilder needed to go, he’s run his course. Couldn’t stand another season of Wilderball. Problem is, our owners hired the wrong replacement in a summer where there were lots of great candidates available.

Maybe we could get a minibus down to the American embassy?

It's the international break for me. He's had 2 weeks to batten down the hatches and prepare to stink out - maybe even win - a game. But then this lineup lost 5 (FIVE)-0 after two weeks of his coaching

We'll never know though will we? Which manager had us playing quality football on our way to two promotions to the Premier League and then had us going toe to the toe with the best? Maybe, just maybe, he didn't feel like he had the squad to do that last season, which if anyone remembers, we started with a really small squad of which quite a few were young players, but still got us 90 points and maybe, just maybe, he felt with a couple of decent signings, we could have been more expansive, but no... ohno... let's get rid of the sensible manager with 5 promotions on his CV and an LMA award (because they hand them out for nothing don't they?) and replace him with someone with none of those things, oh he kept Hull up by the skin of their teeth.
It's fucking amateur by the club.
We've got exactly what we deserve for a shocking decision.

I hope you're enjoying whatever 'ball' this idiot has us playing.
BTW, who were these other 'great candidates'?

I'm conflicted. I said after Boro it be madness to sack after 4 league games. Unbelievably, now feel it be madness to not sack him. No leadership, no pride, no hope of improvement. I'll therefore sleep on it til I cast my vote, see if my integrity returns 😁

I really don't understand that after the middlesbrough game some fans still couldn't see selles was never going to turn the team around. You could see in is interview after the game he was out of his depth and clueless.

When Wilder got us to the Premier League we were fantastic to watch. When he got us close last season we weren’t.

TBF bettis needs to shoulder a lot of the responsibility for Selles appointment, ( and yes I was hopeful the lad would succeed) because I wouldn't imagine he had actual face to face time other than over zoom with the owners .I think now is the time for a DOF , there's just to much happening with the club for bettis to have proper control of it all.
