I really couldn't watch anymore. First time I have ever walked out at half time in all the years I have been going. It was like watching complete strangers playing football acting like its rugby with no forward passes.

I wasn't the only one though as the streets were so busy with other blades fans it was like the match had ended at a poorly attended match.

That performance has surely soured even the biggest happy clapping Wilder fanboy
You'd like to think so, wouldn't you? No YOU'D like to think so, wouldn't YOU. Bet you've been hiding under your bed for the last 2 weeks when we've won. Actually, you're not on you're own, bet there's been a few MIA on here. You're all back now though aren't you, with your just stained underpants and your WDS, typing in capitals and spluttering all over the screen. Yeah, we've lost at home. So what? It's not like we've never lost at home before. Go and support Real Madrid or Barcelona if it upsets you so much. The lot of you, not just you Hackey.

I suspect that performance has soured any Blades fan - whether or not you wish to pseudo-insult a particular section. Absolute dogs**t performance and players and manager should be ashamed of themselves.

Hoever played ok , Davies wasn't at fault

Thats it for positives.

Pretty much everyone else abysmal

I agree,
Davies wasn't at fault.

But yet is beaten by low balls or taps in's ALL THE TIME. Almost as bad as Garbage. Might as well let that other GK try out for the dead rubbers these games are.

that 1st half might have the worst half of football (excluding PL) since southend in August 2016. i thought hull 1st half 2 weeks ago was bad. but it that was atrocious. couldn't defend, no matter how many times Adam Davies baled us out. ive said for a while saying that our defending hasn't improve much since selles

or that we string 40 passes together that go nowhere & lose the ball. blackburn couldnt believe their luck to get a gift of 3 points to survive relegation. i was saying leave adam davies in the dugout & chuck the teacups at the rest of them

the 2nd half was better, it couldnt be much worse. the 1st 25 mins was more like it & weirdly had the chances to grab something out of the game. as they looked quite nervous & wouldve crumbled had we got a 2nd. but in last 20 we revert to type

Despite the majority of them being poor in that first half two things stood out for me. Why was Riedewald playing so deep and how fucking thick McGuinness must be to keep giving the ball to Burrows when he was two’d up and had nowhere to go? ( his passes to midfield were generally poor as well). Thinking what’s Wilder doing but he was somewhat vindicated by taking both of them off at half time.

The starting XI not withstanding, those first half performances were a disgrace, Hamer excepted and no blame for ScapeDavies.

Fair points , Hamer tried 1st half although his volley straight back out of play from a throw in summed up the general performance perfectly.

48 teams is an absolute joke at a World Cup. What's next - let all barring the bottom team in qualifying group, through to the finals? Point taken- there must be some real beauts in Curacao footy alright.
48 teams is too much, 32 is perfect

they did beat Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago so they wouldve made it with a 32 team. i believe its because other confederations wanted more slots & problem is that Uefa Had almost half of teams at the world cup

Although I've not watched the replay of the 1st goal but quite how one pass resulted in a 2 v 0 situation is as baffling as it gets .

What utter bollocks

Should have been 0-4 at half time. Blackburn were shocking but that for me was the worst performance I’ve ever witnessed at home since Port Vale home Adrian Heath 💩

It wasn't a "pseudo-insult" just a regular insult at the absolute clowns that think the messiah can do no wrong and has played no part in this absolute shit show

Classic Wilder response

The set up of the team was a joke in the 1st half....I didnt have a clue what the plan was....and neither did the players

True but the appalling ball control, erratic passing and defending makes you wonder where players heads were. I’m no fan boy - and yes, some were his signings - but you expect better from professionals.

However Wilder was outthought again. O’Neill must have been overjoyed when he saw the starting line up.

Worst first half performance at Championship level for many years …… August 2010 - 16 years ago when we were 3-0 inside 25 mins on the 1st day of the season……. Now that really was very bad.

Are you joking?
No keeper would have stopped any of their goals.
I feel sorry for him being left to try to stop each goal. Team should be ashamed of leaving him that exposed.

Worse match I've ever been to. Players don't give a toss, clueless manager and coach, everyone in front of us left at HT, second half these two coked up morons stood in front of us with the combined IQ of a sparrow, uneducated teenagers spent the whole of the second half singing that stupid song that everyone sings when the opposition GK is about to take a goal kick. And football is supposed to be entertainment. Good grief.

Fully agree.

Felt more disgruntled at half time than any game since we left League 1.
At least when we were in the prem you could see we had come out of the summer transfer window with a mid-table championship squad so there was no wonder they were getting outplayed in every game.

Tonight everything seemed dire: the selection, the shape, the tactics, the team intensity, individual performances, desire, discipline, commitment, skill. In every department, playing at home against that relegation threatened side, we should have had a squad capable of being better than them all over the pitch.

I’m supposedly waiting for payday to hand over nearly a grand to the club next week for season ticket renewals. I cannot think of a bigger way for the club to say to me and anyone else in my position “Don’t bother” than that first half of football.

I did the same. Sat through the 8-0 and the 5-0s in the premier league because it felt wrong to snub players who were trying their best, just outclassed. This is a team (and manager) that has no respect for people who pay a lot of money and in my case travel long distances to watch them.

Sadly I can pick a number from this season just as bad that’s the worry for the future

whoever thought lets play the season ticket renewal video during half time, needs looking at 😄

My observation was that Bindon changed the game a centre back carrying the threat into the opponents half he dictated everything we did until he took that knock on his foot
He showed technical ability athleticism and physicality and never gave the ball away even with one leg, almost JOC levels of ability
Our two centre backs who started the game abs Robinson before them never run or ran with the ball drawing players to them and creating space even when they had 15/20 yards to carry it forward
Tamganga Mcguiness basic and both awful

I'm not one to moan or criticise generally but that first half tonight as someone mentioned in this thread, was as bad as I've seen from a United team since that Southend game back in 2016.
Absolutely appalling standards which the players and management (I generally back CW) should be totally ashamed.
One of the more worrying aspects was the tandem of Riedewald and Rothwell who were so anonymous in midfield. Our first choice pairing next season? Jesus Christ!
The second half was marginally better, how could it be worse! But the damage was done and Blackburn had little problem in containing the bit extra effort we put in after half time with the four replacements slightly improving things.
Quite why Brooks wasn't used after HT is a mystery.
Thank fuck I'm missing the last home game on Saturday!
