I’m taking my granddaughters, who are visiting from Australia, to the match. They are keen on seeing the players arriving at the ground. Does anyone have any idea what time this happens before an evening kick off?

Looking at similiar questions about 2hrs to 90 mins before kick off but there is not set time really you just have to be lucky.

Can we get Gary Sinclair to announce before Kick Off that we don't give a shit about this match?

Ideal scenario is our u21s beat Wrexham. But realistically there'll be a handful of first team squad that actually need minutes - so will be a mish mash side that probably won't gel/flow at all and we'll "lose".

That wouldn't class as revenge... Would it?!

Hoping we'll see Campbell and Souttar play.
I hope we play a strongish side and some of the players who Wilder has bemoaned have not had minutes are given some. Always pisses me off when managers moan about lack of playing time and then rest players for these cup games.

If you want to see Wrexham, they're at the Mercure in town. Didn't spot any celebrities alas

We should have enough to beat these but it's way down our list of priorities and they'll be well up for it due to what happened two seasons ago.

Wilder has never been particularly bothered about the cups, especially the EFL Cup.

2016-17: First Round - Blades 1-2 Crewe (AET)
2017-18: Second Round - Blades 1-4 Leicester
2018-19: First Round - Blades (4)1-1(5) Hull (Pens)
2019-20: Third Round - Blades 0-1 Sunderland
2020-21: Second Round - Burnley (5)1-1(4) Blades (Pens)

I’m much more confident that we will get a result on Saturday rather than tonight, because the club does not take this competition seriously.

Wrexham are 7/4 to win the tie, with how we treat the league cup i think its good value, its a game im not going to and im not bothered if we go out , keep everyone fit for saturday

Might have to eat my words later on but imo we often looked terrible when not playing the first 11 previously because we played a system built on understandings between players and the system itself. Playing a more generic game now we might see an improvement when players are switched around.

1st trip of the season to the lane. its always nice to be back. & normally league cup is a free hit & treat it as a extra friendly. not bothered by the result but ill take any chance we get to beat wrexham
