Don't know if it's been mentioned above, but trouble on St Mary's was ridiculous.
Police stood watching and united bloke (his own fault) sparked out. No need.
I saw someone slumped on the road at St Mary's with a few policeman standing around him. They didn't seem too concerned for his welfare or any obvious sympathy!. Didn't see what led up to it

bit disappointing 2nd half & we've dropped 2 pts there. yes the ref didnt help flow of the game for about 30 mins giving QPR corners that weren't & what was a Free kick to QPR wasn't to us. as slowly the referee lost the plot

but we never had the same quality as we did in the 1st half. as after 1st 20 you felt it could be 3 or 4. but in 2nd half we stopped playing the ball to feet & starting throwing possession away as soon as we got it back, by hoofing it. now was that the players struggling under pressure. but i always felt we were hanging on & we let QPR back in the game, if you dont retain possession well against anyone you will be punished.
It wouldn't be Sheffield United if there was no aimless, stupid hoof. If the club was human it would be sat in a corner in a wheelchair dribbling and pissing it's pants.

They really don't even realise the damage they've done today with their shit attitude.
After last season people were looking positively at playing at a lower level, with better players, or at least better footballing type of players.

Most teams in control of a game at 2-0 up will find that the other team creates a chance, or gets a corner or something and it's no big deal, but with United if an opponent puts five good passes together and forces a corner, the entire gameplan is completely fucked and the aimless, stupid hoof starts again.

It just won't go away, and all it takes for United to lapse back into HOOF is a team that presses for a few seconds.
The panic, stupidity, crap decision making, passing the buck, and HOOF starts immediately as soon as a team (ANY TEAM) steps it up a bit, and when HOOF happens it doesn't go away, every game is just United hoofing it clear and the opponent bringing it back at us again and again until we finally concede.

Even intelligent, footballing types of players lapse into it when they arrive at this club, it's a problem that nobody wants to stamp out which makes you wonder if it is actually encouraged.

There'd been a bit of scuffling on the other side near the Chinese places. Then a group of QPR were in the middle of the road taunting. That bloke ran across at them and ended up on the floor. They walked off and the coppers went to look at him.
The police saw him set off and could have stopped him. All avoidable really.

Wilder said the players went off plan after 20/25 minutes. Why not fucking sort it at half time?

2nd league game in and he’s already pointing the finger away from him again.
Some things never change.

Why does he never take responsibility for anything negative? Always the players, not anything to do with him.

I think we should have done opposite of conceding a goal while playing 11vs10 for 15 minutes

Maybe it’s a good thing that this happened now. Wilder is often the only person in the stadium that doesn’t think he has made a mistake - like keeping playing Lundstram and Norwood.

The new owners have now seen a manager who never learns from his mistakes because “he never makes any”! He should have said “That was on me. When the game went dead I should have changed things. I had a fantastic bench and I didn’t use it”.

He has done himself no favours!

Exactly this.

You are spot on Graphman.

If you drew one of your graphs for “Mistakes Wilder has Acknowledged” it would run flat along the zero axis!

If anybody didn’t think Wilder should have changed things early in 2nd half I haven’t seen it written anywhere. Everybody around me was screaming for it from about 55 minutes - our play had gone completely flat.

I hope somebody has a line to Thomas Page as our manager needs to change his narcissistic manner or we need to change our manager.

I really cant work out yesterdays performance, as there was the good, bad and ugly.

I dont think QPR look a bad side and they found there no10 (role player) throughout the game (especially when Souza got booked, as i thought he was less effective as soon as he got booked), where as OHare went quiet after the early freedom (thats where i thought Wilder was out managed as they changed to nulify OHare while we didnt change, but more on that later).

Id like to see the game again (not really), as i dont think we were in as much control as some have said in the first half, but we scored two good goals (especially the 2nd which was a lightening quick break).
With better first touches, we could have had several more good chances, as OHare and Moore x2 were fed in very good positions, but there touch let them down.

I do think a draw was a fair result.

I think as a team we need to improve defensively, but that will come when players get used to the new systems and partnerships (i think Souttar has to start next game though).

Robinson looks to be taking a lot of stick for the goals, my thoughts on the first from the corner is perhaps it was just a very good ball in and well finished (perhaps a better challenge from Robinson may have helped, but im putting it more down to a good ball in and finish).
Second goal, was it Robinson or the full backs fault (would love to see it again, but the highlights dont go that far back), but i initially put the blame on the full back coming in and leaving his man free behind.

Having said that, i suspect Robinson will be the one to drop out unless Wilder noticed (like i did) that when everyone went for a drink after 30ish minutes, Anel stayed away while tactics looked to be being passed on (Anel and Robinson both did good and questionable things).

With regards to Wilder, i do think he was out managed today and listening to his interview after, it did concern me that he moaned about the players leaving the plan.

My worry is, do some players listen to him because surely as a manager, if you notice they have gone from the plan you tell them to go back to plan?
I did notice on a couple of occasions, he called Souza across to talk to him, but Souzas response was to fling his arms around (perhaps some players dont listen).
Re the above and Souza, i do wonder if Wilder was trying to ask Souza to get on there player in the 10 role, but he didnt want to/listen?

Its still early with all the changes and it will take time to gel, but looking at the players we have, i still think it will be a exciting season when things settle.

Whilst I don’t agree with how late Wilder uses subs, he is right about the players. We have in the main experienced, quality players who for 20 minutes were in total command. Those same players backed off for the next 30 minutes and then were unable to see the changes that QPR had made and adapt accordingly in the second half.
It should not need a manager to point this out nor change the personnel at half time.

“It should not need a manager to point this out”

Looks like he didn’t bother.

(Assuming of course that sentence isn’t a joke)

We've an unbelievably young side, one of the youngest we've had.... easily younger than the Tonge, Jags, Montgomery side of Warnock's as he intentionally had old heads and leaders in there alongside.

There was only Davies, Robinson, Moore, Hamer and O'Hare over 25 yesterday. That's about to get younger still with Cooper in net, and Hamer and O'Hare are flair types rather than leaders aren't they?

I do think yesterday mainly (on the pitch anyway) showed their age and inexperience. We need a couple of old heads in the squad to bring on, a bit of experience and calm, a bit of leadership. And a bit of patience.

It wasn’t a joke. He may well have pointed it out, but the point I am making is that highly paid professionals should be able to do their job properly as we and any manager would expect.
Wilder’s job is to make sure this week that the squad has the message.

I understand the point but we had players who have played a considerable amount of matches regardless of age. Several of them have international experience.
I fully accept that Arblaster Gilchrist and Brookes will make mistakes as they learn, but the rest should not have simply backed off when they thought it was won after 20 minutes.

Yes of course. But that was his job last week as well.

Yeah we should change our name to Shitcloggers United.🙄
Unless we give em time to gel of course, like more than two games👍

You don't start to gel when you hoof it, all you do is make it more difficult to gel and bring bad habits into the next game.
Unless of course Wilders plan is to fill the squad with decent footballers at great expense even though he's gonna tell them to just hoof it.

Unlike some. I don't blame Wilder for that last 60 minutes, I blame the players, it was pure and simple idleness and bad attitudes, thought they'd done enough in the first 20 minutes and decided to take the rest of the afternoon off.

I think we're at opposite ends of the perspective scale JJ🙏.
I saw lots of positives for a group of guys still at the "feotal stage" for want of a better expression👍
