If he was playing as a 10 in the McGoldrick/Duffy role, he might get away with it, but as a LH it's not really workable to have an overweight chunk out there... There’s a reason no one decent has thought he’s worth a punt. His all round game is miles off it. Has moments of brilliance but top end EFL teams can’t carry these sort of players any more.

When teams let us play we look fantastic, we just need a second option when things aren’t going our way, but this has been an issue all the way back to 2021.

So did Nick Montgomery every game. Didn’t mean he was any good. I’ll sweat my bollocks off for 90 minutes every game and cover acres of ground but I’ll still be shit. FFS look at some of the strikers in other clubs this season and wake up. Even Ollie clown feet McBurnie has scored more goals. That lump who let us down at Wembley is scoring for Wrexham. Working your socks off being shit is just accepting less than mediocrity.

Players that havnt been in regularly had played well today. Hats off to them, made it very comfortable game.

Clean sheet for Davies will do him a world of good (although got away with the disallowed one), Chong and Hoever linked nicely, Peck was tenacious and the front players pressed well with Riedewald bringing a calmness to middle of park.

Completely two different types of players, whos also massively more experienced playing in set ups that are tailored to them.

He made 2 massive blunders and somehow got away with them. Let in a goal that was fortunately disallowed. In his defence though, his distribution was much better than Coopers. Always looking for the quick throw when gathering the ball.
