For the record I don’t have any positive views about CW. I support the team and comment on individuals as I see them.
Today, coming on against 10 tired players, Donovan was excellent . If he starts will he be as effective overall ?
I do however think he will be an important part of our season.
I want Sheff Utd to win games of football. You generally do that by picking your best players and ideally players that are going to win you the match and then play them as much as you can to gain an advantage. The basics of the sport. In that respect Donovan is levels above other players we have as he has pace, trickery, can shoot and cross. He does give the ball away a bit with his passing but he has generally been good this season. BBD has been utter trash in all the games he has started don’t you agree?

Campbell looked decent when he came on which is good to see. I really hope Wilder makes changes to the starting line up for Friday.

Fair play to the rest of you for dragging that absolutely dross out to a 9 page thread.

Absolutely nothing new learned from that game.

that 1st half was shocking we were getting outplayed by poor team & explained why with a win. being 8th wouldve been absolutely baffling

Donavon embarrassed wilder by doing more BBD has all season. & actually exciting the fans for the 1st time in a long time

that derby keeper 2 outstanding saves in stoppage time. people around me were sure they were in

it was pretty horrendous conditions 2nd half. if that was 3pm KO im not sure the game finishes

I think the biggest issue i saw was that Derby won most of the 50/50s. We just got out muscled across the park and didn't really seem to have a way of combating it.

Its like we are always missing a player.

Lets keep collecting points of performances like that though.

The subs improved us greatly! unlucky not to get the 3 points, Zettestrom made some excellent stops for them

Cannon should probably have been pulled at half time its not the game for him against the physical sides, i thought Ayew offers us far more with his hold up play
does Bamford have a dodgy shoulder, im sure he did same thing last season, is it same one all the time?
Campbell looked sharp when he come on as well offering more physicality.i think wilder probs regrets not starting the stronger lads when he looks back at it
all in all its the early kick off upset they put themselves about today derby so a points probs deserved

carry on regardless UTB
“Wilder probably regrets “ ? Wilder is always right. He won’t regret anything.

they won them all because phillips was on his own in midfield arblaster was non existent and because wilders dinasaur tactics meant we only had 2 in there as opposed to derby's 3 so sad to see wilder play this negative cautious way a million miles away from the chris wilder from back in the day he has to go

Derby didn't so much drag us down to their level in the first half as we went there willingly. Game came alive with the sending off and the subs.

Credit to Derby they defended bravely, won just about everything in the air and their goalie deserved MOTM.

Relieved to get a draw in the end.

Fuck me, bloke must have some regrets this season then.

I do

I am not sure what “ the obvious “ is with Donovan. Talented, yes and really good today against 10 men and a tiring defence, but is he more effective when starting a match ?
Perhaps the answer is to start him and see, but then you leave out Chong or BBD and play one of them on the wrong side.
He was pretty good starting a match. Worked back better than Brooks ever did but OGL deemed that experience (Players wot I av signed and trust) trumped work rate and ability. Used to respect Wilder for what he did, but unless he changes he’s toast.

I’m always grateful when we don’t lose, obviously, and delighted when we win. Even when we’ve played like dog shit. But lately there has also been additional delight when avoiding defeat because it means that we don’t get some wanker or other coming on here squealing that the “Wilder haters” will be happy that we’ve lost.

The Wilder haters will be happy that we've dropped 2 points to a bottom 3 side with 10 men. ;)
