He was on a well reported £70k a week at Leicester before taking a reduction a couple of seasons ago to £50k a week.

We’ve taken over the contract.
hmmmmmm im not sur
Your logic isn’t working here. So Manchester City players have relegation clauses? You’re talking absolute waffle.
of course they will you clown go jump off viaduct you wally

Well if you’re not sure then that must be it.

Google it, it’s well reported all over Google from many different sources. It’s obviously within that ballpark.

It's been widely reported that City players don't have relegation release clauses because who on earth expects them to get relegated? It was the same with Tottenham and Man Utd when they were flirting with the bottom of the league.

While cutting the playing staff budget by £10 million pounds.

That's more than season ticket sales bring in.
Still operating on a top half budget.

And if money is so tight why waste what little we have on aged, out of condition, out of form journeyman, at the expense of our own youth prospects?

Tommy Doyle didn’t like the idea of relegation clauses did he

Iliman needs to sack his agent if he's signed in the summer with no clause related to guilty verdict/punishment/relegation.

I'd expect the contracts to have termination clauses in them related to the ongoing judgement, although are typically if the law has been broken rather than a sporting regulation (although I haven't seen a top level sports contract in detail). If City go down as a result of the current cases every single player there (maybe with the exception of Foden) will be out of the door before the ink is dry.

i think he would go around Preston/Charlton if things were to go bad.

but Wilder at Bramall Lane is reminds me a alot Of F1 & how everyone expected red bull to collapse after Adrian Newey left. because like Newey at Red Bull, he’s not just doing a job; he is the blueprint. When someone defines the entire tactical DNA of an era, its easy to get terrified of what happens the day they aren’t in the building anymore.

but they also mask deep systemic gaps behind the scenes. When you look at life after them, the whole structure feels like it's built around one man rather than a sustainable, modern model
The owners said similar after sacking Wilder and one of the reasons they brought him back.

That would be admitting they are guilty .

The player's agent puts in a clause that would see their client (checks notes) lose money if the club gets relegated? Yeah right
The clause gives the right to the agents client to jump ship should the club get relegated and said client doesn't want to play in a lower league and lose money because the club has written in, like we did, a reduction in wages for getting relegated (checks notes).

the job of staying up last season & rescue job he was the right man then. but things arent a constant. you can be the right man for 1 job & not for another
We are in that F1 transition period. Just hope we can find an Adrian Newey or even better our version of Ross Braun.

even in that red bull was supposed to crumble. how can we progress without newey "weve" never won without him & his designs have delivered 14 drivers & constructors titles & 118 wins

but others stepped up. yes the took a step backwards but he arguably 2027 title favourites
