If we don't go up I think Wilder will run not putting Holding in over Robbo. Contrast today's game with two big fuckers up front to the same vs Millwall. Nothing spectacular but denied them an easy out ball. Cardiff created nothing whilst he was on the pitch

Back on the horse. Let's hope Oxford can do something now and we beat Burnley then who knows

We arguably lost to Millwall because we were incapable of scoring against them. They shipped 4 today against Blackburn who we still have to play incidentally.

Nice to hear. Are you really at BDTBL? The matchday thread whiners are seeing it differently.
Its almost as though they don’t actually go to the games…
Anyway, I enjoyed the match, two teams giving it a go, and I’m now in the Triple Point celebrating a back-on-track win by my footy team. Final analysis:
Pies - 1
Goals - 2
Points & Pints - 3
Enjoy your night!

To be honest that was pretty similar to most performances this season. Enough to win.

Again not convincingly against a team set up to defend, counter where possible and get the ball into our box.

We just aren’t good to watch at all. Yes we are third in the league and have won more games than anyone else in the division but Jesus it’s frustrating. It doesn’t even seem like winning football.

Everyone knows what will happen against Burnley. We will stink the place out with plenty of possession that goes nowhere. Burnley will bore us into submission and then win 1 or 2 nil without us really ‘laying a glove on them’

I am definitely a glass half full Blade and always optimistic but tonight should have been a performance to get us out of our seats and get some belief into the crowd and the team ahead of a huge few weeks.

You can only play what’s in front of you, I get that but we should have been all over them from the start, not giving them a second and getting balls into into the box at the earliest opportunity.

Positives in Holding who is a massive JLT upgrade and Peck. I really think Peck could do a job as a 10 rather than Brewster and is wasted in a defensive role.

He keeps the ball really well, his movement with and without the ball is excellent and he sees the through balls.

The frustrating thing is that in most games we get short periods where we see what this team could be, but it quickly reverts back to type & becomes drab again. We’re a difficult watch.

Choudhury had a great game at RB and holding/anel partnership looked so composed (something we was crying pjt for), holding also played some lovely forward passes. Peck was his usual self words not needed, souza was showing glimpses of early season form.

It will be a bore festival, 2 teams putting results before performances.

Holding did well, shame he had to come off due to injury/fatigue.
The number of minutes he's playe this season is totally ridiculous

I think we end up playing the drab, negative backwards side wards football week in and week out, because we are desperately short of players with any real pace at the top of the pitch.

The only players in the team who can outpace an opponent are Tyrese Campbell who has a great turn of speed and is strong and athletic, Hamer has a decent turn of pace for a fat lad and Brewster, though not possessing Campbells speed isn’t slow. Seriki is rapid and Brookes too, but those two are clearly defensive fringe players.

But beyond those, as a team we are pretty pedestrian, which I believe is why we struggle to make runs in behind, or go passed an opponent and the ball invariably goes backwards or sidewards, after what looks like a promising opportunity?

If this current team played in the Premier League, I’m afraid they would get horribly exposed, possibly even worse than last time if that’s possible?

Although what you say is perfectly true, Wilder has acknowledged as much. In public however, he seems at a loss to explain the reasons for it. We have been driven by results in preference to performances all season, but Wilder has yet to offer any explanation for it?
In fairness, he has overachieved, since the season began, when I believed that we would finish mid table. He is the manager, thank fk, but he doesn’t accept any reason for poor performances?

He's made comments earlier in the season anlbout how playing more attractive football goes hand in hand with poorer results. Not sure as to his logic there but can't disagree that we've had plenty of good results playing the ugly stuff.

From a fans perspective its the knowledge that if we go up its likely to result in another season of us getting pummeled ever week which is depressing stuff. So to compensate for that we want the championship seasons to be really classy affairs with some Rolls-Royce football. Sadly we've not been able to do that and it does make you wonder who would deserve a game in the Prem from the current squad?

We would probably have to rely on winning the play offs to get promoted! In the unlikely event of winning that lottery, the whole squad would deserve a crack at it surely?

After considering the player retention implications, the academy stars that could get picked off, and disaffected players who decide to move on anyway, the new owners might want to spend on EPL ready playing staff.

Too many variables to consider for mere supporters. Will Vinny, Hamer and Ahmedhodzic stay? Are all the others happy with the plan for EPL? Is there a plan?

Watching Uniteds performances at the moment is comparable to going to the cinema and watching a film you've seen ten times already.
The same 1 0 up then pushed back too easily in the second half.
