Not a very good performance, but a big 3 points. We rode our luck a bit but were comfortable in the end. The second half was better than the first but we looked skittish, at times, and there were some poor final balls and decisions. Could easily have been 2:2 before their mistake. Still, 3 points closer to promotion and clawed the goal difference back on Boro.

Davies - 6 - Indecisive first half. He game for two but defenders cleared anyway. Didn't come for one with Bogle, who then left it, but made a great recovery save. It needs to be one of the other but that settled down second half. Made a few standard save but you could argue that he has to do better on the one before they hit the post but the player was unmarked so spilling it would have meant a goal.
Lowe - 5 - Gave the penalty away with a stupid challenge and should have been sent off for a second yellow for pulling their player back. In fairness, he kept going and got better as the game progressed. Putting a lot of effort in to get forward.
Robbo - 7.5 - He got caught on the ball first half which almost cost us but other than that his usual committed self. Ndiaye's face when he comes charging in for the header is priceless!. Won most of his battles and won a crucial header from a cross.
Egan - 6 - Struggled with his man first half but made a couple of important interceptions/blocks. Got better as the game went on but second best in the air.
Baldock - 5 - Playing out of position he struggled against a bigger man. Kept at it and used his experience well, but he's not a RCB.
Bogle - 3 - Look awful at times and an accident waiting to happen. He loses concentration far too easily and it almost cost us today. Did actually try and beat a man for once, but ineffective going forward and poor defensively. He gives his man far too much room to get crosses in.
McAtee - 6 - Took the goal really well, although the keeper should have saved it, and had another good run where he blazed over. He's got a habit of getting in the right position to pick up loose balls and drifts into space. I did think he was a passenger for large periods of the game though and needs to get more involved.
Doyle - 6.5 - Struggled a bit first half. Put a couple of great balls round the corner but also was weak defensively. Got better as the game went on and it was a great cross for the second. Ran himself into the ground and looked knackered when he came off.
Berge - 6.5 - So frustrating at times. Managed to get two assists, although the second he knew nothing about. Put is some good balls but also slow in thought and deed on the ball and got caught a couple of times. Slowed attacks down first half with an extra touch before looking up. Needs to be much more aware of what's around him. Had to take a daft booking. Kept going though and I thought the defensive side got better as the game went on.
Ndiaye - 7.5 - Cool finish and great anticipation. He was the one making runs down the channels all the time and by far and away our best player first half. Didn't all come off for him today, but he kept going and always a danger. Final ball was often poor today.
McBurnie - 5 - He loses most headers and often seems to mistime his run or simply pull out of them. Had a hot 5 minutes early second half which was much better and then lacked composure when we had an overload. He gets fouled a lot but needs to be stronger and hold his own instead of looking for the freekick far too obviously.

Subs:

Fleck - 7 - I thought he sured us up when he came on, pressed well and it was his ball round the corner that led to the mistake for the 3rd. Seems a much better option to come in for McAtee and see games out.
Clark - 6 - Again, coming on made us more solid, added height and scored the easiest goal of his career.
Norwood - 6 - As above, added some fresh legs and helped see the game out
Jebbo - 6 - Pressed and looked to get round the back
Sharp - 6 - Had a shot but is desperate for his 250th

Hecky - 6.5 - We struggled first half and it looked like the decision to play Baldock at RCB might backfire. We were better in the second, but road our luck. I though all the substitutions were spot on and we were comfortable in the end.

Cardiff - They look a poor team but have a few dangerous players. Philogene looked good and caused us all kinds of problems. They're defensively poor though.

Not the best performance but the pressure today was massive so I’ll let them off

Poor first half bit better 2nd big 3 points, always nice to beat Cardiff ☀️

I'm always nervous watching us, especially this point of the season with what we've got riding on it. When we went a goal down and the 5-10 mins before it when Cardiff were, I'd say, on top, I was more nervous. The equaliser couldn't have come at a better time and another brilliant finish from McAtee. I really love that guy, fantastic player. Of the 2, McAtee has more chance at city than Doyle. You can see a lot of Foden in him. I know he's known as the Salford Silva but I think he's following Foden. I'd love us to go for him again next season but we'll see.

The 2nd goal. Corner delivery was poor. Ball in from the following cross was absolutely beautiful and what a header!!!

3rd one, the little touch from Illiman to knock it round the keeper, just gorgeous. And reward for keeping going and harassing the defender forcing the error.

4th goal was scrappy but they all count. Var would have looked at Berge handball and probably ruled it out.

Didn't watch it intensely enough to rate players and what not as I had a couple mates sacrifice going to come and watch it with me 😍, although I will say the defence don't look like they have much confidence in the keeper. Either that or he doesn't shout loud enough. Not much he can do with the penalty so can't judge that. Saw a few punches and parries that didn't give me much confidence either. I'm not going to slag him as thats not fair but I'll give criticisms where due.

Great win and result. Next game is another must win. Keep those 3 points coming, home advantage must be taken.

Fuckin Luton again though. Like an itch in the impossible part of ya back that lot.

UTB and make mine a double 🍻

Proper, no nonsense, summing up of the game. We need to see more posts like that on here. I for one, rate McAtee as highly as I do Illy. Amazing talent.

The ball in from fleck for the third goal was exquisite
Caused havoc with the defender turned away from goal and tge ball spinning back inside him
So big up to flecky for that
True, in the highlights you see Ndiaye looking for Flecky in the celebrations to give him credit

Thanks man. I don't tend to really post reviews or owt, hence the shortness of it I suppose. Wouldn't make a journo anyway.

As I say, home advantage, keep going as we are with the wins and we're up ⚔️🍻😍

Was the ref implementing a new rule he's made up to stop play and do a drop ball if he noticed a player had fell down? He did three I think.

Post match thoughts about the opposition.

Two players that played for them caught my eye.

The young lad (CB) who was on loan at S6...... Mark McGuinness

And Jaden Philogene-Bidace who is onloan from Villa he hit the bar with a shot in second half.

It was Wickham who hit the bar and mcguiness was dreadful

boro max points total is 83 luton 86 , so we want boro to beat luton next monday night so both can only max out 83 points
then we only need 5 points to be sure . 4 could do as our gd is far better than luton and level with boro

Bristol one of the few teams that actually don't have anything to play for.

Losing to Watford means now both relegation and playoffs are almost (although not 100%) mathematically impossible for them now.
