He's better at defending than most give him credit for too.
Yep put in a great tackle not long after he came on ! he was beat on the outside but had the pace and athletism to take the ball cleanly with the ball staying in play and taken by I think Diaz .
A challenge Kyle Walker would have been proud of !

Exactly my own thoughts and that was not the first one he’s made this season of similar quality .

It’s early days yet , but the fact that we always look a better side when he is on the pitch is usually the hallmark of a special kind of player and I am pretty confident that this lad will go on to become one of them .

What a player
What a player
He's had a tricky run to get here, we picked him up when Bury went tits up Alan Knill must have known him from his managing time there.A few loans not worked for him including one in Belguim! also Rotherham.
We are definitely looking after him and I can see why. (Tricky seriki😀)

No doubt he’ll be dropped again for the next game!!

He might do if Wilder thinks his fitness isn't up to it.
To be fair, he's very effective coming on against tired legs.

We've not had a great deal of insight into Wilder's thoughts on Serki as he's missed such large stretches through injury.

I hope he isn't in the Andre Brooks category of players he doesn't trust.
Wilder called Brooks out on his Monday to Friday attitude and lack of consistency, but I think Seriki has always made the bench when available. He needs to, he changes games.

Spot on ! telling how it is.

Exactly this, their winger thought he had done him for pace but Seriki was too quick for him and stopped him with a great tackle. Interestingly that winger didn't try to go on his outside again.

I thought he should have come on sooner as Choudhury was walking a tightrope after his early yellow and looked like he might get another in the second half.

Reyt player, looks the part at rwb/rb.
Choudry is a very decent player, but agree with earlier posts, that position very much should be Serikis if he's fit.

Another thankyou due to Hecky & Jack Lester for the amazing work they did with a particular generation from the academy.
Agreed, when u look at the players who have come through that academy in recent years it's remarkable. Off the top of my head Blaster, Peck, Seriki, Brooks and One have all played significant first team minutes even if some were signed at a late stage and that doesn't include Osula and Jebbo. That is well over 50m of players and if we can hang on to them all they will form the nucleus of our team for years to come.

It's been a lazy assumption that because he's a good attacking RB that he must be poor defensively.

There's no proof in his performances to suggest that Seriki is only adept at going forward.
I can’t remember the last time we had one who was good at both. Maybe we’ve been conditioned into accepting it is always one or the other. I agree that he is at least adequate defensively and I expect that side of his game to improve with experience.

3 out of our next 4 are at home, surely the shirt is Seriki's over Hamza 'couldn't progress a game of pass the parcel ' Choudhury

Let's look after his fitness over the next 11 games and he could prove to be the ace in our pack.

In a season when we lost one of our greatest right backs it would be appropriate if he could help us deliver promotion from that very position.

seriki has to play in the upcoming home games ok he might not be fit enough for 90 so we have to be cute with him and use him wisely i would say either give him the first hour or bring him on for last 30 minutes

I would imagine he comes on the last 30 minutes again and slowly builds it up. Wilder or Physio department seem to a little slower than we are use too. Where players would be called fit and thrown into the side.

Can be frustrating at times as I’d love to see Femi start the next game.

He also got 2 of their players booked, both for just being too quick for them - Colback & Lloyd.

We don't know how good a defender he is, because he has only started two games and not been tested regularly over 90 mins against different opponents. I'd love to see him starting, but I guess every game is worth 200 million from now til the end of the season, so have to trust in Wilders judgement. It is a shame he got injured when he did, because he would have got a run at that time for sure with Gilchrist flagging.

These upcoming home games v Preston and BristolcCity are the ideal opportunity to play him. We will have a lot of possession and they will try and hit us on the break. His pace will be of significant value in both those scenarios. With Clarke and Gilchrist coming back from injuries and not playing that well anyway this is the perfect time to try him from the start
