Selles sacked

Just can't see this happening. They're going to want to make sure the next man in is a safe pair of hands. Rphl would be as big a gamble Selles. It'll be a Dyche, Cooper type. If not either of them, it will be an experienced championship manager....
I can't see Dyche because I think the board may like someone younger/sexier type (not literally sexier 😂) in terms of media and the increasing trend of going for young foreign managers. Remember the board sacked a damn good manager and thought appointing a rookie in Selles was the answer! Besides I'm not sure Dyche or Cooper would want the job and weve only got one appointment by COH to go on to know they're thinking.

I've not seen today Paidsy only other games but I've seen enough now to know it's not working and I don't think he could complain if he was sacked next week. I think we'll sign a few more players and then maybe he leaves next week at some point.
Or save the money on more players and keep it for the better incoming manager

Will the next coach/manager bring his own Director of Football with him?

Oh I forgot he would need to get permission from Del Monte Bettis, so forget that one.

In my opinion, It’s gone way beyond whether the players are performing for him or accepting of, or adapting to ‘his style of play’ after today, that ship has sailed.

With 58 minutes played and one nil down, still looking like we might possibly pinch a draw, he elects to replace Louie Barry, (who was at least trying to make something happen) with Ryan One, who might have great potential for his age, but that potential does not yet extend to the Championship.

If that wasn’t enough managerial naivety, 10 minutes later, he swaps Campbell (Who was awful all game tbf) for the shocking Tom Cannon, who’s only involvement for the entirety of his game, was a pathetic dive in an attempt to win a penalty, then on I honestly don’t remember him touching the ball again. Those two subs effectively left us playing with 9 1/2 men.

When he came in he promised fast paced, high pressing, ‘Aggressive’ football, that is the complete opposite of what he's delivered, we get bullied every game.

The blokes eyes must be painted on. He’s an absolute joke and he's making the club a laughing stock. His appointment is a failed experiment, no experience, no pedigree, no CV and no fucking idea.

Get rid, he’s failed fast! 😉
One was ok when he came on infact he was better than Barry for me.
Campbell was poor you even admit that, so changing him for Cannon was the right decision. The fact Cannon never touched the ball after falling over in the penalty area is not Selles fault, Campbell was equally poor and doesn't look interested.

Who replaces him ? I’ve passed the info on I received about rohl, but I’d pass on him I can’t see them asking wilder to come back I’d like cooper or dyche, I can half understand O’Neil sort but still I don’t want him either I think Nick Montgomery job would be to big for him even tho he understands the club, is there anyone else or someone capable of doing a good job any one already in a job we could poach ?
Again there lies the problem "he understands the club" what does that even mean ?
I'm pretty sure no other football club appointments a manager because they understand the club.
Regardless of all that Montgomery hasn't done anything to even suggest he should be even considered for the job.

Transfer window closes on Monday so I reckon we'll sack him on Tuesday morning to prevent distruptions with potential incomings.
Or sack him today so incoming know a competent manager will be taking the club forward not an imposter Ho fooled the owners into thinking they were wiser than the 120+ year history of the club.
Remember owners, fool me once……..

The issue is so much bigger than Selles. His staff are not up to standard so even if sacking Selles you have two guys with no experience taking over.

If Des has left that leaves one man with experience of making football decisions, which is Steve Bettis.

Who is going to interview a new manager and staff? Is this in the hands of Bettis because my guess would be the owners don’t have much knowledge of any manager we interview.

This is the guy who thinks he does a great job and there isn’t a need for a director of football.

Whoever the next manager is, it will be a punt due to the lack of experience left at the club.

To finish, the worst decision Selles made was letting Lester go. He needed that link to the players but even now they don’t have someone to go to for their frustrations due to them not respecting his coaching staff.

It’s a fuck up

They could have just signed Chris Powell when he left Wednesday. So simple and yet they seemed to be after someone who needs a work permit.

This sums up why we're really fucked.

It's fucking 2025 not 1985. Only Sheff Utd have the manager as the fulcrum for transfers. Every other club in the top two divisions sign players independently of the manager/coaching staff.

Players sign knowing over the course of a 4 year contract they're likely to have two managers maybe even 3.

Only in S2 do we roll out he excuses of let him bring his own players in/they're not his signings. It's like we're stuck in a time warp.

Hear Hear.

'Understands the club' - bollocks isn't it.

Give me a 30 minutes presentation of how you will get a team that finished 3rd last season set up and playing. Simples. There's nothing more that's needed. I don't care if you were a ball boy or once shagged a prossie on Mappin street whilst wearing a Blades shirt. I want to know you're going to set us up and get us playing in a positive way, and your going to develop my young assets (Peck, Burrows, Seriki, Arblaster etc) to a point where I can get £25m for each of them...

Misrepresentation about Bettis’ DoF comments. He said there were no plans for a DoF in early 2024. When Chris Wilder, a man totally opposed to working with a DoF, was our manager.

Apologies for using facts.

It translates to expecting the players to run around and get stuck in. As if it’s a uniquely Bladey thing to do.

If anyone has watched Arsenal in recent years, they run a marathon every game. Their team is packed with physical monsters. Opponents get crunched.

And they just happen to be super talented to boot…

Don’t understand why we can’t get Rohl and Selles’ daddy in Hassenhutl? Just a better overall manager than his protégés are.
i think hassenhutl is a very good shout could it be him coming in with rohl as his sidekick 🤔

Harsh on One. Did well defensively then starting a counterattack, before creating a golden chance for McCallum.

Ryan One plays the best to his ability and given time will be an even better player than Will Osula but he needs time and develop , he’s 18 and will only get better but he needs a loan for at least half a season . Why not bring Jevon Beattie on to the bench , knows where the net is and is prolific at until 21 level even though he’s 18 .

It's not being "stuck in a time warp" to allow the man responsible for results to select his own resource.

If he picks the wrong resource, then and only then, can he be blamed for results.

Has anyone any idea of the nett spend so far this window?
Impossible to know as some reputable outlets like the BBC say we got 14m for Anel which seems too high.

However Souza, Anel and Moore must have brought in 20-25m and we have come nowhere near spending that much.

It is when no other club operates that way (maybe with the exception of Pep)...
