Was expecting anytime soon, but not sure. I need to shift one closer to me too :)
Him and his mate wanting to move from gangway G to D/E on the kop and talking about it but not sure what they can do. It'll all be ok, even if they stay where they are for now

I think the delays that look like they are coming to opening up means capacity will still be restricted August (I'm guessing 50-75% tops) means there won't be any more season tickets sold or if they are new ones sold they will probably have to wait to attend and be done on a pro rata sale basis for the games they see. Don't anticipate any walk up first few months.

It's bloody crap but if they delay opening up fully for 4 weeks as rumoured then as we have seen before it's unlikely the date end of July will be stuck to either.

Full grounds still seem a long way off and not sure many of us will be going to away games next season.

Rubbish.
You need to contact the Club , DB , and get yourself accredited as the official S24SU match correspondant , then , waving your 'press' card , you'll get into away games as a journalist.

Way things are at min, I cant see them going to general sale, theres to much uncertainty over covid rules.
Maybe more will be able to buy a half season ticket come Jan if people follow the rules and stop fucking it up for us all.

They should have shut the border at least two weeks earlier on 9th April. as they did with Pakistan and Bangladesh, who had a lower incidence of cases per head by a considerable amount. In India cases were running at 160000 per day which would rise rapidly to 400000, this was only looking at cases in the cities and is thought to be a huge under estimation of the actual figure. At that level India was one fucking massive petri dish with all sort of mutations of the virus.
It is irrelevant when we found the variant here because it came from India on one of the many flights that arrived in that period or maybe before.
Funnily enough I've not yet heard about he Portuguese variant, yet we decided to ramp up border controls last week.

The borders weren't shut with India early enough and now we are reaping what this government has sown. Its not as if enough people were calling for the borders to be shut because they were,

Weird how Boris finally cancelled his planned trip to India to discuss a trade deal the day they shut the border.

I just think its very sad, not the least that I will probably not be able to watch my team in a packed Lane, due to this shambles.

But Hey Snowflake (as our Kev would say) you are welcome to your own thoughts and opinions, as am I. Good luck.
And as a result we ( Ireland) are going to introduce tougher travel restrictions between U.K. and Ireland or you could do what most folks do
Head up north then travel south it’s how we got the Kent variant
Got my second shot on of the Pifzer vaccine 2nd one in 4 weeks on Saturday
Just to thing the taxpayer pays someone to make Doris’s hair look like that

You have succinctly set out the position with regards to the Indian variant (or Delta variant as Bumbling Boris and his crew now call it in the belief we will all have forgotten where and how it came in!). I have become used to the many mistakes made by BB and Hancock during the pandemic but this one of letting at least 20,000 people in from India without making them quarantine strictly in hotels defies belief. Having got the country into a great position with the vaccination program they then throw it all away by this rank stupidity and incompetence. What I cannot understand is that people are not demanding their immediate resignations but apparently the general public support the postponement of "freedom day". Have I missed something?

Haven’t you missed the fact that the virus is spread by people, many of whom would not do so if they stuck to the rules set out by the Government.
I have no doubt that mistakes have been made by those in power, but some of the recent scenes around the country are a clear indication of one of the main problems: selfish individuals.

The Indian variant was not known about two weeks earlier. We could of course just stop all travel and then we would be fine ! Just short of food and other essentials !

If we had stopped travel from India it would still have got here, maybe a week or two later
The only way it wouldn’t is stopping all overseas travel and trade outside England Scotland and Wales

Just a simple move of declaring India a red list country would have allowed us to vaccinate more people, which would have protected the most vulnerable and lowered transmission, that's not a debatable matter, it's a fact. The government have made fuck ups like that throughout the pandemic, its unforgiveable and thousands have lost their lives as a result.

That being said, I'm relying on Boris and Co's lack of regard for the safety of their subjects, I think they will give us our freedom back as soon as every adult has been offered the vaccine. I wouldn't fully disagree with that move but it comes with all sorts of caveats, for example those who choose not to have the vaccine will be massively at risk, children too, although they suffer less if they get it

You're right it would have got here if, of course, it wasn't here already, and it would have been far easier to manage by our "world beating" Trace and Trace system.
But by not closing the border and allowing some 20000 people from the Indian sub continent to arrive without quarantine allowed it to take hold and spread rapidly as it could not be managed.
Just look at the data, its not difficult to find.
It was a balls up (sorry Phil) and has mightily screwed up our ability to close out this "lock down", and far more importantly my chance to go to a crowded drinker (The Brothers) prior to attending attend a packed Bramall Lane in August and probably longer.

No more posts on this from me, its slightly off topic..... "Thank fuck for that" I hear them say. ;)

Lets say of the 25K ST holders from the first year back in the Prem, 12K to 15K have renewed to date, (don't think that would be a bad guess?)....which was probably the amount we had when in the Championship....?

So that's getting on for 50% capacity already, not including comp tickets etc so if we start with restricted attendance, (which I fully expect to happen), we may not even see ST's go back on sale prior to the start, certainly in Kop.

I would imagine that there have been so many ST's sold for each stand that when 50% capacity was reached they stopped, we may well see that we cannot have our actual seats and it may be that your ST just gets you into the ground and you are allocated a socially distanced seat with others being covered, bit like what we are seeing in the Euros...

Part of me wants to say, if you've taken the trouble and expense to renew your ST, then it would be reasonable to ask the club what the way forward will be after yesterday's announcement, the other part of me says like the rest of us they haven't a clue.

Blame "luggage" for the virus spread, does everyone wipe their luggage down with anti virus solution prior to leaving another country,no,the virus so i am told can stay infectous for 36 hours, dem bagage handlers picking up and cross infecting all the luggage they put into a planes hold, then the same happens when you get off the plane.

Very difficult to keep germs out of the country, when that is happening, unless all luggage/baggage is sprayed before and after it is put on a plane, you would expect some travellers to complain that a dog had pissed on their posh clobber trolley.

Wembley is going to have 40,000 fans inside for the final four games it host's.

“Maintain social distancing”

sounds like they aren’t expecting full houses to be permitted then in August.. more fun and games on the loyalty points
calculator.

If you are wearing a mask what good is photo ID going to be?

Basically When the fuck is the old normal coming back? 😡

Will season tickets have photos?

I was thinking of getting a couple and having them shared between three or four adults that can't make all games, but between us we could get to most. If they are requiring photos for season cards then that puts that right out.

no but the name on your driving licence photo ID will need to match the name on your season ticket.

But.. Does anyone honestly belive everyone will be checked when thousands turned up at 2:45pm to get in…

I think that's a reasonable estimate. It's frustrating as a few weeks ago it looked like we may be all back but it's not going to happen now.
Unless we designate out fans as VIPs in which case, at least as far as The Euros are concerned it's all systems go!
