[Apologies for having the audacity to think that a club considered one of the most financially sound and progressive should have ambitions of the playoffs at the very least. Clearly that's unrealistic.[/QUOTE]

We are not a mediocre team and we will not end up in the middle of the table. Good players do not automatically become a good team, but we do have a potentially good team.

Exactly my point, so how could we aim for the sorts of players we would be wanting to attract? Are the targets the same no matter what division we are in? and equally as realistic?

So you prepare with what you've got, and get that to the right standard, and if anything more arrives, even better. While all the legal stuff was obviously very annoying, I'm sure it didn't stop players and coaches getting on the training pitch.

Whether or not he does dictate the style, it is aimed that we change it (board or Robbo's decision), hence the reason i've mentioned it as an issue!

Put yourself in the picture... after a few years away from a job you'd love to do, you get yourself back into such position... Your employers ask you to make certain changes in order to get the effect they are wanting and employing you to do. What would you do? tell them to stuff it and quit?
Who is in charge of our club? the football team manager or the board/chairman?

It's a team matter, not a club matter. All of which is a bit away from the original point anyway.

I'd love to have your optimism.

Also, 12th in a league of 24th would seem to me to be the very apex of mediocrity.

Exactly, why are people worrying and saying the season is over

I mean we are only 5 points off play offs with 24 games to go

Yes we should be up there but we're not so we should just remain positive and stick by the lads

I'm sure with Robbo's nouse  that he will bring a few good players in January, namely Cahill hopefully

Just stay with the boys, support them and i'm sure good things will happen

UTB

no, there is still a long way to go. i still think we will finish in the play off spots but we need to sign good players in january

I think we have to try and look at the positives from this season so far, although there are few...

We're 5 points off the playoffs, and if not for referee's it could be 1 or 2 points, so it's not a complete disaster. And we have to take into account that we are still keeping in touch with the playoffs without playing too well all season, so if it does finally manage to click together, we're going to be a very dangerous side.

All ifs and buts at the moment but who knows, there's always a team that go on a storming run after christmas to sneak in, maybe this year it's our turn.

we always have a bad run after christmas. on past accounts i dred to think what will happen!

hopefully, it will have changed from warnocks luck and we will go and stomp home, but highly unlikely!

It does also suggest that if another few teams pick up their form after Christmas, we're going to be left dangling in the middle of the table.

I'd feel a lot more confident if we were playing with any passion, skill or commitment, but we're not.

With the way we have been playing this season, i wouldn’t like to make any predictions about our finishing position in the league. I have seen us play this season with no passion and to me it seemed that the players had no intentions what so ever to win, and the next week i have seen us fight for a win through the duration of the 90, with a season performance so far like that, how could anyone possibly predict
