He looks so lightweight. But he isn't. His control and vision is a billion miles ahead of Cannon. And he is difficult to get the ball off. That is a very key skill when it comes to progressive play. Most other players in our team are afraid to retain possession and give it away dead quick.
He does really get stuck into the defenders, but also controlls the ball most of the time. Really pleased he's with us next season.

3 points would have the place rocking, but 1 point would not be a disaster considering who we are playing.

All we're asking for is that we approach the game in the same way we did against Ipswich and we won't be far off.
The significance of a win is huge.

Draw and we are still 3 better results away from 6th.

Win and we are within 2 results, one of which will be against the team being chased.

I say this with no arrogant internet at all, but we are better than those teams in the chasing pack.

Even Boro, they are not that much changed and we finished more than 20 points ahead of them last season. Either Phillips and a fit again Riedewald alongside Peck and we are so good in midfield.

We just need to be ruthless now. As had been mentioned we’ve had chances and not taken them but now is the business end.

I hope we can see the Sheffield United of the last few weeks once more and not the depleted one against Southampton and that we avoid any daft scenarios like at Charlton.

The opportunity is there now. It’s time for players like Hamer to show their true value and take games by the scruff of the neck. He’s had a quiet season by his high standards but there seems to be some encouraging signs in the past few games.

Some good results yesterday. How we did against similar teams shows how good we can be.

With Coventry being unable to breakdown an Oxford side sat deep and just defending (and then going down to 10 with Lankshear being sent off for the last 15 mins), it demonstrates that our win against Oxford in mid week was never going to be easy for us especially after going a goal behind due to a mistake, and that it was an excellent result for us. They are fighting for everything now. We despatched Oxford without too much fuss whereas the leaders couldnt do that 4 days later. We have made a bit of a mess of this season havent we. All the more frustrating.

Take away the "we" its the board that have made a mess of this season (all common sense said stick with the manager who nearly did it as Leeds did). Whether they have done enough or to late to redeem themselves remains to be seen. Just stick with Wilder and back him.

I posted about their cheating and outright dangerous thuggery after our game against them with the ref doing nothing.

This time it looks like they did get a few carded but still came away with a point.

They will go down though and good riddance.

Have enjoyed the Cov collapse as well though.

guys to say we are not that changed in a completely false statement. on monday we probably have 3 players from the match last season at the lane in the starting 11. possibly 4. depending on the formation we play. quick run through the team changes. totally new fullbacks, completely new forward line, new cb. the only players that will play in the same positions as last season are hackney and morris in midfield.

its a tough one, so many teams to pass. if you can do it then great. this league is full of tin pot teams who park the bus at home. thankfully we (boro/blades) are not among them. i hope you do get into the play offs. the other teams are all crap. including hull.

if you are thinking you beat ipswich you can beat us similar way. that's probably not a very good comparison. ipswich fold when the go a goal down, they have no heart at all. thats not us. we have some great leaders in the squad. like ayling, targett, browne. solid pro's been there done it, they help us get through sticky patches in games. we have a proactive manager to changing tactics when its not working mid game, changing formation to suit who's fit etc. a refreshing change to edwards and carrick who were utterly useless if they had to change something.

I see you've been playing a range of formations lately — is that because you adjust according to the opposition, or because of player availability?
