This a no go now we have signed CW ?

Would suggest we could still be in for two due to the negotiation of CW’s release. Free’s up more loan spaces.

But that could have been a waste of time now if one of them was supposed to be Johnson?!

Who knows?! It’s all very exciting/frustrating. Waaaaaaaaaahhhhhh.

I think there would be more noise / rumours if this was close.

Washington might be our lot for today.

That clearly got all sorted yesterday and there wasn't much noise around that one.

sign an injured player? some of us were actually around in the John Ebrell days.

We also signed Matt Killgallon who was injured and ending up play very few games towards the end of the relegation season. If we'd have had a proper fit player, we may have stayed up.

daft idea to sign an injured player

UTB

Depends entirely on the injury. Part of the reason for the medical is for insurance purposes. In Ebbrell's case, because it was a pre-existing injury, the insurance was invalidated and we didn't get a bean when he had to pack in. Probably the worst business we have ever done.

If it is a short term injury that the player is clearly going to recover from (as opposed to a "condition" that is never going to go away) there is usually no problem.

If anyone comes across Hogan in Sheffield today please shout “I see nothing, NOTHING” in a faux German accent.

If you don’t get the reference start watching the Armed Forces Channel on Sky.

Wallace and look how that turned out

Abraham to Villa apparently means they'll now sanction a loan move for Adomah to Boro. Hogan will more than likely still be at Villa come 5pm.

I would have thought they’d be more keen to loan Hogan to us, than strengthen Middlesbrough.

Saw Wallace play the last 25 mins for Fleetwood against Leicester on Tues night. Easily the best Fleetwood player on show (albeit they'd made 11 changes from their league team).

It wss noticeable how he still tired with 10 mins to go!!

I didn't hear that but I did hear someone shouting "I know northing, northing " in a faux Spanish accent if it helps

I’m not surprised you want Clarke moved on, with the amount of times he’s made you look foolish ;)
Another one :)

Didn’t you ‘hold your hands up’ and admit you got it wrong with Clarke last season? You need to make your mind up ;)

Anyway, I’m happy for Clarke to keep proving you wrong so keep up the good work.

Nope. Never did. Consistency is my middle name !

Fully expecting Washington to drop Clarke to his rightful place as a squad player.

NO Goals in 5.5 games is simply not good enough and it’s about time you and shitloads of others began to realise that Clarkes continued inclusion is, without a shadow of doubt, holding the team back.

This will be my last Leon comments on a Hogan thread. Pick this up on a Clarke thread if you must. There are plenty to chose from :)

3 wins in 3 says otherwise.

Agree re Clarkes form, but as we appear to have failed to secure a striker that either has got something to prove or can play 90 minutes who else starts?

Easily satisfied Bil. ;)

Haha.

No point crying over spilt milk. Was apparent in his interview (this week and previously tbf) we weren’t gonna get a key target in. With Washington we at least have an appropate level of cover and it’s a cheap gamble on someone that once went for 3m.

Might be he does well for us and at least provides some pace:
