I thought it was a young Leonid Brezhnev.

Well, him and Sid were together a lot, so an easy mistake to make

Looks like it’s on then lads. Hogan, Sharp, Clarke, Washington, McGoldrick, Woodburn aint a bad strike force

Is Washington signs. 100% means hogan won’t sign, why would we have more loan players in the squad than we can put on the bench?

Hogan isn’t going anywhere imo.

Might be a perm as he's apparently had his QPR contract cancelled by mutual consent.

Hope that makes room for another loan.

Interesting..... still can’t see hogan happening unfortunately.

A day of Washington, hogan and Johnson would shut a lot of people up! Me included.

Even if it’s just Washington it would be an upgrade on Lavery and a fairly low risk gamble who provides some pace which we lackimo.

i think we do need 2 strikers but if we sign Johnson too . I think that will be it.

Why not? He’s been clear from the outset he wants two strikers.

Wasn’t the outset the start of the window? McGoldrick was one of the strikers. I had thought that he therefore wanted one more striker, and a player with width (though looking at the recent photo of him, this could be Washington...)

Now I would be jealous if Abraham signed for Villa.

And I would be really annoyed if it got over the line in time for him to play against us!

Had some pretty reliable info saying that Hogan was indeed in Sheffield yesterday and with United re: the loan deal. All hinges on whether or not he can pass a medical.

Reading Bruce's statements today it really sounds like he wants him to stay.

Can injured players pass medicals? Teams sign injured players so I know it can be done.

Not being funny but we know he’s been out for a long time - it’s a risk even if he has a thorough medical. It’s a gamble either way.

I think it's likely that there will be some concessions, what those may be is anyone's guess... but yes injured players can pass medicals.

sign an injured player? some of us were actually around in the John Ebrell days.

We also signed Matt Killgallon who was injured and ending up play very few games towards the end of the relegation season. If we'd have had a proper fit player, we may have stayed up.

daft idea to sign an injured player

I thought Killa didn’t play in our relegation season because he wasn’t good enough for the PL. And Morgs and Jags were better.

could be mistaken but I thought he was injured when signed in the JTW and took ages to then get back to fitness.

The article suggests an ankle injury, but I seem to remember - and it's 12 years back - that it never quite got right until near the end of the season.

Maybe not but I don’t think it cost us relegation. He wasn’t better than Morgs or Jaggi then, or ever.

yes, good point. He ended up being an expensive mistake in the JTW along with all the other signings NW made.

Killa and Morgs may have been ok, with lets say pushing Jags into midfield but at the end of the day, we got relegated and none of the players NW signed helped us - poor management really - wonder if NW has learned a few things along the way and I suppose we'll see with Cardiff.

He likes the Championship, him. Cardiff should have sacked him in May.

I believe Goldy was something of a surprise extra and that Tufty still wants another.
