Sarpsborg 08' scouting mission?

Just listened to the Adkins post Doncaster interview in which he states that Deane and Turnbull have gone abroad on a little scouting mission.

I might be putting 2 and 2 together here but I had a quick look at the team Deano managed last season Sarpsborg 08' and see that they have a game tonight in the Norway Cup against Viking and I just wondered if this could be the game that they have gone to watch? Is Deano taking Turnbull to watch his old team with the view to raiding a couple of players that he feels are good enough for us? Is Deano about the deliver us another Jostein Flo?

I know it could be nothing but it would make a bit of sense, wouldn't exactly be a blind scouting mission would it? Deano knows the gems up at Sarpsborg and how easy it would be to bring them over.

Sarps obviously will have played against all of the Norweigan sides in the top flight, so he should know about all of the good players in the league. However, I agree it may be someone he knows quite well.

I would rather a JA Fjortoft than a Flo personally.

That sounds promising. With Deane's knowledge of Norway and Turnbull's experience this could be fruitful for us. It's the right sort of place to be scouting and the foreign leagues represent the best value. It's about time we had a good foreigner. At least it would make a change from signing Championship reserves.

This game has been a rather dull affair for 90 minutes! Anyway in extra time Sarpsborg have taken a 1-0 lead through a lad called Patrick Mortensen, it turns out that this lad has popped away quite a few goals . Might play in the equivalent of the Northern Premier League but get him signed up for the pittance that it will cost and see if he can find the net as much over here.

They looked pretty fit in that first VT played at a hell of a pace but ran out of steam just before they scored!
