Hope Berge starts today.

I don’t think given he’s still getting up to speed with the intensity and fitness that he will today after his appearance at Reading. Lundstram might though as despite the extra time he’s certainly fitter. I’d bring Besic in for this one, and while that might be a surprise I could easily see Wilder doing that (before removing him from the matchday squad again).

If we want a better chance of Europe this season imho: No Berge

If we want to build the team around him long term: Berge

Think most can agree with that, whether it's option 1 or 2 people want is another thing indeed. I'm more for option 1 but that's just me.

I don't agree haha. As much as Lunny has done really well in some key moments this season... I thought he was an absolute passenger on Tuesday night. Berge is much the better player and should start. Lunny for me is a valuable asset as an impact sub. Let's not forget that Besic was pushing Lunny for that starting berth before we signed Berge. So to that end Berge starts Lunny is on the bench.

Arghh if only we could merge the best bits of Berge Lunny and Besic into one player

Surely after Tuesday Freeman deserves a spot on the bench for today. I can’t see how Wilder can bring Besic into the starting eleven and have Berge, Lundstram and Freeman on the bench.

I think it’ll be Berge or Lundstram starting on the right with the other on the bench with Freeman.

I’d be surprised, unless of course Berge isn’t sufficiently fit enough to be on the bench. When everyone’s fit, Freeman is basically competing with Osborn for a spot on the bench. A spot that Osborn has better claim to currently in my opinion.

Has Lundstram signed or is going to sign a contract?

If not play Berge.

If Lunny won't commit to a new contract and perhaps sees his future with someone else then that's fine, but United have to then look at our future and that in the short term is Berge if Lunny wants to ultimately go.

We're going to get more of this as newer, better players are brought in.

If Stevens and Fleck are carrying minor injuries it would be more likely than both Osborn and Freeman would make the bench.

Freeman also gives us the option to change the system and play more attacking should we need to.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Freeman doesn’t make the bench, but I’ll be surprised to see Besic involved.

Think that's probably right.

But I don't think we'll get in Europe regardless.

In all honesty I think Besic could be the best option right now yet he probably won't even make the bench.

Wilder relishes the thought of being spoilt for choice with the team selection. Think he'll adjust soon enough, the jury was out on a lot of players we've signed under CW. Granted hes our record signing so theres the added pressure but with him having the lads round him almost every day, staff and the gaffer encouraging him along the way (and giving a bit of tough love where needed) I think he'll come into his own next season. What strikes me is how so many neutrals were shocked how a newly promoted side like us managed to snatch such a promising starlet whipper snapper like him. Think the price wasn't too extreme and from the videos i've seen where he played before joining us, hes definitely going to add strength and depth. Just needs a bit of time to settle in. Luckily for us, hes got the right sort of competition within the squad to grade himself against, who can get picked over him when needed (and hopefully fairly soon he'll surpass in terms of the performances he gives).

Don’t get why he was played higher up the pitch. Does a job in the middle but is useless going forward.

I think Wilder is trying to shoe horn him in somewhere purely based on his price tag. There’s no way he’s shown more than Lundstram in the role he’s playing.

Norwood being so shit today should hopefully give him the chance to play on his natural position, but I won’t hold my breath.

Showed more urgency today. Still too many basic errors though. The difficulty is he needs games to get upto speed with the EPL. Played loads better than Norwood today though!

thought he was one of our best players tbh

He was improved and just about ok, which compared to most of them is a good game!

He was actually making runs into the right areas and looked more like a part of the team. He's so slow though. He tried to skip round someone and lacked the pace to do so. If he can get fit, then will be an asset.

Why can't he go on those mazy runs you see on his YouTube videos

This might sound OTT but wonder if Norwood is playing poorly because of Berge being in the team.

At least Norwood offers the occasional set piece or threatening long ball.

I agree. Can’t afford these sloppy passes on Wednesday
