Not good enough yet, stop fucking about, play Lunny and give Richario a cameo from the bench, if he can play next to mousett then we could be very dangerous upfront next season.
And as for Mcburnie, £20m, really!?, he looked pathetic today, he should be in the Olympics for some of his dives!, needs to buck his ideas up for me.
Didzy didn't look arsed when he came on, Mousett would've been the better choice, he was about to come on and Wilder pulled him back, error.

Granted that was McBurnie's worst game for a while but it's not his fault Wilder left him on when he's having a mare....

Thought Didzy looked class when he came on but he needs his strike partner to be close by to fully successful and McBurnie doesn't do that.

Lundstram should have come on much earlier today but in fairness having to sub Stevens at half time must have thrown all such plans for a loop.

I've no doubt Berge will be a big player for us, but I wouldn't play him in front of Lundstram and Besic currently.

Wtf?

Didzy plays in front of the defenders, today we were crying out for someone to get in behind them.

I'm not one for criticising Wilder but today he had Mousset up and ready to come on and then sat him down again.

I can't understand why.

It's a difficult one.. he needs games in order to get upto speed. But of course we are wanting to finish as high up as we can. I can see him and Lundstram being rotated best the end of the season. Performance permitting I would maybe give him the full 90 mins in the cup and evaluate after.

I agree but I would also add that if the expectation was Europe then I’d be worried however, I don’t believe it is therefore I feel we have time to be able you fine tune our sin the latter part of this season to perhaps build on it next year.

I as much as anyone would love to get into Europe this season but I think more valuable than that is that we’ve bought ourselves some time to be able to prepare for a more coordinated challenge for Europe next season

Just read this back and realise that it sounds more negative than intended.

Sorry FMBlade1. Your sad emoji was noted.

Berge will get better. He's took a punt coming to an unglamorous club in an unattractive city. He wouldn't be here if it wasn't a good move for his career so he won't waste it and he'll get all the help he needs to make it work.

The truth is that we didn't really need him. We were just flexing our new muscles.

There's a player in there no doubt.

However I think he needs bedding in and getting used to the system, regardless of what we've paid for him. His short passing is nice but he's not been particularly threatening, which is understandable of course.

Lunny has his flaws but he has the knack of being in the right place at the right time and right now that's exactly what we need.
We are slower with Berge in the side. Question is do we keep going knowing that we aren’t as good with him right now or do we put Lundstram back in and push on with what we know? Berge will improve no doubt and some of his close control/passing is nice but he isn’t a player for this season in my opinion.

It’s a nice problem to have.

He’s very difficult for the opposition to get the ball of him, he’s like a brick, he’s very tidy when dribbling, I’d say he just needs to be a bit more forward and quick thinking as the prem dictates, but that will come with the coaching from Knill and game time.

Berge looked like a player still learning the system and was carried by the rest of the team to an extent. Showed some good touches and played a few good passes when he got the ball. Often in the wrong areas to influence the game though. He’s also very one footed.

Having said that this is exactly what I’d expect from a 22 year old CM signed from the Belgian league making the step up to the Premiership.

The only central midfielders I can recall dropping straight into the side and immediately pulling the strings are Gordon Cowans, Stuart McCall, Andy Reid and Oliver Norwood. Maybe add John Ebrell to that as well. All at an inferior level though and all were experienced heads. He’ll come good, just needs games which is a luxury we can afford at this stage.

The chance to go over a DVD of the full 90 today with CWAK followed by another 90 under his belt at Reading will bring him on no end.

He'll come good. Lunny has the advantage for sure but Sander needs blooding.
He's still feeling his way in a team with a rare way of playing,I thought he had a good 2nd half taking more responsibility the intensity the game is played in premiership is not easy to grasp..Takes some foreign players an age to grasp it .
He's come into the league with the other two foreigners at the business end of the season ,it will have been an eye opener for all 3. Bring it on.

John Ebbrell? In that 45 minutes?

Imo he has improved each game - which is really all you can ask for.

At the moment I think he is still not 100% with the system. Particularly when interchanging with baldock - it will take a little time to work out when and where to run for the releases of the ball in this system. I can only see him improving with more time and we have the luxury of helping acclimatise before a full preseason.
We have to remember he only came into the county 3 weeks ago.

Why are we unglamorous and why is Sheffield unattractive? Nicer place to live than Burnley, Watford, Birmingham and most of the country. Why are most Sheffielders so down on their city?

Sheffield is wank compared to the rest of the major northern cities. But that’s a separate debate

I'd quite like to see a midfield of Lunny, Berge and Freeman in the next game.

Lunny is more used to the pattern and Berge has been playing more in that sort of defensive role.

Then when we switch again into the league, I'd be tempted to revert to Lunny, Norwood, Fleck though I wouldn't mind seeing Norwood in the right of the three and Berge deeper. Norwood has great control and it would give him options to cross more.

I think Bergen is being harsh on Baldock. I find him technically good and the way he controls those raking cross field passes is always spot on.

A bit of context.....Berge's a young lad used to playing in a league that's slower in pace and probably in thought too. So naturally the adjustment he'll need will require patience, added to which he'll be on a steep learning curve where the demands asked of him will, at times, be harsh, but that's what he should expect.

He also needs to adjust to a new culture, so cutting him some slack will be crucial...imagine if, at his age, any of us were to move to another country, how would we adjust? So patience, a willingness to embrace this new life that has come his way (I must add, he appears remarkably sociable, very likeable, and prepared to do whatever's asked of him, so you can't fault the boy for not trying.....he's doing all he can to integrate into a very different world).

It won't matter one jot, but he does appear to be possessed of great technical quality, so putting this season to one side, give him the pre-season that every one of our players is put through, then let's see how he has adjusted...should prove beneficial for all concerned. The main thing is not to get on his back for things he has no control over. Let's be positive and offer the support that should make the difference to the young 'un. As for why he seems to be playing in every game, go ask Chris, I'm sure he'll offer a very considered reply!
