Sack him now

I thought we should have stuck with Wilder in the summer. We needed fine tuning. But if we were going to change then at least get a forward thinking manager. Gary O’Neil? Good shout but Selles?
I wanted him out out after the play offs regardless. Our form from Christmas up to the final were shocking. We sacked him, set Selles on (not too fussed as I thought he were decent) but opted to not set anyone up above him? So basically expected him to work like a manager. But as a head coach? Zero sense. I’ve mentally and physically checked out since Wilders been back as I mentioned. Call me a shit fan if you want. But I can’t be arsed with the rinse and repeats of last season. It were like watching paint dry most games last season. We’re not getting the luck this season which is why we’re losing. He’s lost the thing that made him such a good manager. Bollocks.

I don't think there's any point in sacking him and he's not the main reason we're in this mess but the whole "there's nobody better" talk is wild. He's had one good season in the last 5. You could argue that even that was a par season (3rd place with the 3rd best budget)

I'm not sure any other Championship club would go for him. Maybe a Blackburn or Oxford? He's here because it's the best job he can get and we as a fanbase are chasing nostalgia for what he did 6 years ago.

There are loads of managers who have achieved more in recent years. Wilder isn't a bad manager by any stretch but now he's just a lower end Championship manager at best. If he left us today, he'd most likely be looking at a L1 club for his next job.

He did a good job last season and I would have kept him in the summer. His recent record suggests his best days are well behind though and there's no evidence to suggest he will get us out of this.

With this squad we are struggling

I don't think wilder was the right choice to bring back puts the club in a rut , o if all goes wrong we go back to wilder. Not saying I wanted him to leave in the summer but the re appointment of wilder doesn't give a good image of us moving forward in my eyes. As for the squad I don't think it's the best we have had over the last few years but come on second from bottom with this squad really? Ben Mee, Tanganga, O'Hare,Campbell, burrows, cooper, hamer, tom davies possibly even brooks (on his day) they would all walk into most teams in the championship. That's a good majority of the starting team that could easily walk into another championship squad so surely tactics and training has to come into it some where.

He's a spent force now

The board dropped a bollock getting Selles as a replacement.

I can see no other viable option than Wilder in the short term. Let him wheel and deal in January but nothing expensive, he can't spend big money to save his life.

If he looks like keeping us up, then great, we get rid in the summer. If by the end of February we are still in trouble, then get rid and give it another roll of the dice.

Whatever happens, he isn't manager next season. He's a busted flush, and the lack of goals and set up is his fault. It was the same last season.

I thought we did ok tonight. Rubber wrists killed our chances, but I thought we were going down 5-1 before kick off, and we could have had a draw possibly.

QPR and the snorters are games we MUST get results in. 4 points minimum.

This squad has no balance, no leaders, no number 9 and no confidence. Players that for whatever reason aren’t performing. Peck, Hamer, Burrows, Campbell and Cooper are a shadow of themselves from last season. Mee? Past his best, Tom Davies? too often on the treatment table, Brooks? 1 good game to every 6 crap ones. Then we have loan signings that aren’t a patch on last year. Bindon, Barry, Godfrey, Ogbene just aren’t good enough. McGuiness is nowhere near top end championship and we can’t decide on Chong as he hasn’t got started yet. Let’s not get started on the AI players. We may as well have poured money down the drain. The board including Bettis are accountable for everything in this seasons demise. If Wilder wasn’t the answer who could we have realistically appointed after 6 straight defeats with the transfer window shut? It’s a total fuck up which isn’t going to be remotely addressed until the transfer window. For once I expect us to move quickly rather than dragging our heels like we do every previous window

If we are cut adrift don’t expect a lot - other than loans for loans and then you’ve got the issue of who wants to come to a team rooted in the bottom three

I agree, the owners are the issue here and their recruitment of managers is pathetic.

Selles wasn’t even interviewed and then panicked and just got Wilder back without considering other options.

I wouldn’t expect any business to recruit in this way, let alone a football club hiring a manager who’s contract is worth millions!
I’d also assume we did no proper process under the prince when bringing Wilder back in December 2023, quite possibly also when Hecky returned following Slav?

Could quite feasibly be on 4 managerial appointments in a row without a proper process being followed.

I think it will be loans only. Send back those not good enough. It’s a sad state of affairs when with the last parachute payments we will be using it to try and stay a championship club

Also, who determines the proper process? The owners need to employ people who have experience in running a football club. They can’t make managerial appointments with their level of knowledge.

Who are the football experts with input at board level? Bettis doing the money side and Wilder the football side (between sackings) is so obviously inadequate beyond the short term.

Anyone who thinks cw is the answrr should go and watch the last 45 mins of the last 3 games his substitutions are baffling . No plan b .
Peopke concerned about who he fetches in , more concerned about who will leave /called back to parent clubs etc

I know what your saying about the balance and leaders etc but surely that is down to wilder to find the balance. As for a number 9 we have 2 O'Hare and hamer? It's all about opinions pal as we well know but I don't think wilder is totally blameless in this situation and position we find our selfs in. Peck hamer burrows cooper Campbell all been a shadow of themselves from last season I agree with but again wilder needs to be motivating and getting these players going etc. Ben Mee might well be past his best but that is why he has dropped down to championship he would walk into most teams in the championship. As for wilder been the answer I just can't see how it was the answer puts the club in a rut how many times can we keep going back to wilder when things go wrong shows no intent on moving forward in my eyes we can't just keep going he isn't good enough get rid and then going hang on a minute no we want you back etc it's all about opinions etc but that's just how I see it.
