Huge credit to the recruiting at this age group because whilst he's "come through the academy" he's in reality been signed in the same way any other player has where it relies on good recruitment. Weve had countless others at a,similar age like David Brooks, Phil Jagielka, Michael Tonge, Iliman Ndiaye, Will Lankshear, and Seriki. Some are signed from other clubs, some are signed as free agents having been released. It's amazing though how many we've had like this.

Compare it to our neighbours from across the city who've not signed hardly anyone at this age group that's gone onto do anything of note.

I can think of a couple of exceptions, but their names escape me. Glenn Whelan is one but he was signed at 20 ish I think.

Without our academy’s record I doubt we could attract as many good youth signings. Peck and One knew they were putting themselves in the best environment to meet their ambitions.

There’s no saying how well they’ll do from here, but but just to be contributing at this level at their age is indeed a huge credit to everyone involved.

Anyone know how tall the lad is? I asked Alexa but she said he was 5’9” which I reckon must be info from when he was about 10 yrs old🥺 UTB

Bagged his first goal away from home like quite a few of our Academy players in recent years.

Scored first goal at the Lane: Marsh (Wrexham), Ndiaye (Peterborough)

Scored first goal away from home: Arblaster (Preston), Oné (Bristol City), D Brooks (Leeds), Osula (Gillingham), Jebbison (Everton), Slater (Grimsby in 2016 i think)

Arblaster hasn't even scored at the lane yet, both his goals were away from home.

I've also found that figure, but maybe he's grown since he was last measured...

Why was he booked on Tuesday.

He didn't seem to celebrate any harder than the others

It may have been one of two things, said something he shouldn't or the more likely nearest to the ref as in the old rule when a wall wouldn't go back the full 10 yards the nearest player to the ref was booked.

We need to remember he's still only 18. We shouldn't be heaping too much pressure on the little lad.
Correct mate, I watched him in the 21s last season. It's quite obvious he's got a future in the game, but still a rough diamond, let him grow into it.👍

Looks an excellent prospect. I wouldn't worry at all if he was involved today. Big strong lad, and clearly knows how to score goals.

Unknown quantity for them as well.

Think he's got a good future ahead of him. Here's hoping.

You say it was obvious, but there were still some criticising him on here last season 🤡

thought he did well today when he came on was a real nuisance to wednesdays centre backs
